Shellac?

Hi please can you tell me is Shellac similar to OPI axxium soak off gels where you have to apply many layers to build up the colour or is it just like a polish but you cure it under the uv lamp?

Ive not tryed the OPI one so maybe im not a good person to comment but I do use shellac ,
theres no buildng of apex with shellac, there is a copple of layers thin layers , just like doing a polish ,
scrub fresh (no removing shine )
thin base coat ,
thin color coat ,
thin color coat ,
top coat
all cured in beetween , but other than the curing it is not really diffrent to a polish aplication ,

I have used OPI myself (still have tons of jars sat in my drawer) but since Shellac has come out I have not touched my OPI. Shellac goes on more like a polish and after your second colour coat you have complete coverage just as you would with polish. The finished/cured result feels slightly differently to OPI too. (Less rubbery feel to it) HTH

Just another quick question which supplier can I get it from? Can I use my current UV lamp or do I have to purchase the special CND lamp?

you HAVE to use the CND lamp and your lucky because they have brought out a new design.
