Hi Geeks

Today I went to NSI and bought my Balance kit and a few other things of course.

In college we've been using the bigger 4 bulb lamp that has a 2 and 3 minute timer on it. I bought the smaller 9 watt lamp.

I'm now at home and looking through my kit and just discovered the smaller lamp doesn't have the timer function. I should have checked it out before I bought it but in my newbie-ness I just assumed all lamps had the timer function.

I think I'd really like the bigger one now. I haven't used the lamp yet. Do you think they'd let me exchange it?

I was thinking I could buy an egg timer or something but don't know how that'd look.

Thanks
Lx

Hi Hun,
Give NSI a call I am sure if you have not used it they will exchange for the bigger lamp.
As I think you do need the 36 watt lamp for NSI Balance gels, more for the white sculpting gel, the 9 watt you have is OK on clear gel and top coat gels.
But you will have to wait until Tuesday now.
Lotsa luv x  x

Thanks Poshfloss

I was going to call them on Tuesday anyway but just wanted to hear what anyone else thought. I really wanted to get started practicing straight away but guess I'll have to wait untul Tuesday.

I bought the kit from NSI Scotland in Glasgow. Would they not have known I'd need the bigger lamp?

The size of lamp you choose is just a personal choice, so they wouldnt have known or questioned it. I use my small one for mobile and my bigger one in the salon. Im sure Liz will change your lamp no probs. As for timing, i have a small timer that i carry with me, you can get one at sassys.

Hi Debs

So the small lamp will work with all my gels then? Didn't think they'd sell me the kit with a lamp that only worked with half of it.

Been thinking about it and I might just buy a timer and keep the small lamp. It will be easier carrying it about and I really don't know if I can wait until Tuesday to start practicing.

Bought a St Tropez beauty box today too. A couple of times I tok everything out and re-arranged it all. My husband was just laughing. Lol.

Will cure timings increase with the smaller 1 bulb lamp?

Hi,

If you have not used your lamp yet and it is still boxed up there should be no problem with you returning the lamp and getting the one hand lamp. The portable lamp will work just fine with your gels but you will find that with it only having one bulb the cure times will increase, especially with your thick white gels.
