Hiya everyone,

Just started practising L&P on willing victims, and my mums friend said i could practise on her. She already has some tips on and just wants infills. What i need to know is, should i take any product off her nails first before i start and put her a new set on? Am i right in thinking you can't mix different makes of products? If so,i don't know what make she has on as she went to a salon so i would need to do this.

Waffling a bit now, hope this makes sense.........

Thanks x

Hiya - if her nails are in sound condition, i.e. not much lifting or discoloured you should be ok to do her infills (or rebalance depending on when she last had them done). You will be making more work for yourself in removing everything first (although this will also give you practice :)) I'd like to get the opinion of some longer standing geeks though before you launch into going over the top. The one thing I'm not sure of is if it is gel she already has on rather than l&p.

HTH.

Providing the existing product is 'sound', ie no yellowing of previous product or service breakdown etc etc, you are fine to rebalance using a different brand of L+P, the product is already cured so you're not truly 'mixing' product ranges :green:
Mixing uncured product ranges is a huge NO NO.

Providing the gel isn't a soak off you can rebalance over it with L+P, there could be a slight colour difference whether rebalancing over other brands of L+P or UV gel, an application of a soft pink enamel will sort out the colour change (if any) for a few weeks until the old product has grown out.

Thanks for the replies, not seen her nails yet but i do know they are L&P and she has had them on for quite a while, so if they look sound, i will just do infills i think, not done them yet, will be good practice hehehe hehehe :) ...
