Hi everyone,
I have been using the same spray tanning solution (Bali-sun) for the last 4 years but since the owner sold the business to bliss about a year ago i have gradually been losing customers. For some reason its just not the same as it was. I dont seem to be getting the repeat business i should be.
So, i have been spending hours reading through all the different threads on here, and it seems Tantrick and Sienna are the best at the mo.
The feedback i get from a customer just after i have sprayed them with Bali-sun is really complimentary. Bali-sun is brown brown where as i have sprayed my guniea pig (poor hubby) with Sienna 8.5% and he seems to be a gold brown. I am so used to seeing brown brown that i dont know if i like seeing gold brown. I dont know if my clients that are my regulars would like the change.
Is Tantrick Gold brown also?
I would love to know, who out there has tried both and which one did they chose to go with. And why?

I am planning to do a big advertising push for April (contacting all my old customers) and gonna do all full body spray tans for just £15. If i am going to change my solution then i want to have it sorted by Mid March so i can promote the great new solution i am using in my letters.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks

P.s Jaffacake, if you read this, i know which one you love, but i'm still in 2 minds.

Hi Nikki, Tantrick and Sienna-X are indeed very popular but don't forget who won the 2009 award for Best Tanning Product at last week's Professional Beauty Awards - Fake Bake. I would describe the Fake Bake Original as Gold Brown and Fake Bake Darker as Brown Brown, the latter especially when sprayed on olive toned skins. Fake Bake are always happy to send out a couple of samples xx

The new solution from Tantrick, Max is a 10% base and you can add the booster drops to this so that you have a range of 10%, 11%, 12%, 13%, 14%, 15% and 16% this makes it individual for each client and when you spray this one it goes on brown brown,
its got a nice competitive price too :green:

the essence of summer and the 5% goes on golden brown,

the 8%, 10%, 12% and Autumn gold all go on brown brown,
hth

i don't have anything nice to say about sienna x from my experiences with it so i wont give you my views on that one.

Hi, if you're not sure, then why not ring around for some samples? I know that most companies will do this! x

:green: lol

lots of Tantrick geeks on this site, owners, trainers etc etc... just bear that in mind when you get the replies.... :wink2:

Hi

I use St. Tropez and Sienna-X, I love sienna-x really impressed with it.

I had samples of Tantrick and was also very impressed, to be honest I don't think you can go wrong with either!

HTH

Hi I've never tried Sienna X so I can't comment.
I use Tantrick and Fake Bake in the salon...Tantrick seems to be the most popular.
I've had no problems with either but Tantrick is asked for more than FB...mainly because of the way it fades...nice and even
HTH

Hi, I'm looking to change my solution too and have just tried my Sienna X sample (10%). So far.... Sienna isn't as dark as I normally go but I only sprayed lightly as I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say if it lasts, then it's a great natural looking tan and I know I've only had a light spray. I've also just received LOTS of samples from Tantrick today (thank you Collin!), so will be spraying to get the results of these - can't wait!

The best thing to do is go to a salon and have a spray tan from both these brands..this will be the best way of making your mind up.

Also ring both companies to get a feel for how you think you will be treated as a customer in the long term....also ask what sales promotional items both companies provide and if they are charged for or free.

HTH and good luck

Whats wrong with Sienna? You said on another thread that you have 'heard' it doesnt fade well so i'm just windering if you have ever tried it?

I've just got my first 2 guinea pigs. My hairdresser and her 15 yr old daughter. They are coming round tomorrow night. I am going to spray one of them in tantrick 10% and the other in Sienna 10%. They can then keep me posted on how it looks day by day.
Will let you all know.:)

I have used it love and got lots of complaints,
i have worn it myself too to see if the feedback i was getting was true or just clients not following aftercare advise and found they were telling the truth,
i took spray tanning off my menu for almost 3 months until i found a solution that could tick all the boxes for me and tantrick won hands down,

i have a 5 litre bottle of sienna x with about 4 litres left in it, stuck in the cupboard that will no doubt get poured down the sink when i next have a clear out,
hth

I have rec/d quite a few samples, but have decided if i change solutions it will either be tantrick of sienna. I e-mailed fake bake for samples 3 times, they replied to my last e-mail saying that they have passed my request onto head office who will be in touch. To this date (over a week later) no one has replied from head office. So have pretty much given up on them.

Fake bake's customer service is absolute rubbish. I am still waiting after 6 months!!! and have given up too.
They are not only rubbish for us mobile guys but for salons too. I also work in a spa and they had taken 3 months to come out to fix spray gun. In the mean time all the clients went else where and they then gave us a lovely bill of £300!! xxx

I don't blame you Nikki. The only reason I can think of as to why your enquiries have not had any response is that last week Fake Bake were involved in the Excel Professional Beauty event and were, perhaps, paying more attention there (unfortunately for you). I placed an order with them on Thursday to be told they'd completely run out of their Darker spray tan solution (I had to borrow a bottle from my local friendly salon), so I think things have been very busy for them this last week. When I requested samples from them I just called their sales office directly and the samples arrived a day or two later xx

I've had the odd problem too with Fake Bake's customer service, but nothing that wasn't ironed out rapidly, and I still say their fabulous spray tan solutions are worth the aggro! Each to their own though - this forum would be a pretty boring one if we all raved about just one single product x

This is very true babe! I find it funny though how evreyone finds a company so different. It's like, I think Sienna's customer service is great and then you will read about someone saying how awful it is!

well Loubylou, I have an unopened bottle of Tantrick sitting in my cupboard gathering dust until I next clear my stuff out too.... maybe we could do a swap? :green:
