Not too sure about these, do you think they fan out too much?

are these the other nails just with silver glitter on? the reason i ask this is because they look quite similar as these also are top heaving meaning they dont have enough pink and they have to much silver.
i think the sides arent too bad but would look better if you took the sidewalls in abit.
the cuticle area looks nice and flush to the nail but i cant comment on the apex etc... as we cant see that angle of the nails.
nice effort.xx

Hiya hun,
The only thing that stands out to me on these nails, is the smile lines,
They need to have a deeper curve to them , to make them look more balanced, and as mentioned less "top heavy"

I hope you don't mind, but I have roughly done this on photoshop to show you how I mean.

Of course the pic is a bit untidy lol, but you can see how different they would look with a deeper smile

The sidewalls could maybe do with bringing in a tad, but they are really not that bad hun,
and I agree...lovely tidy cuticle area

your product application zone 3 is very good...nice and flush. few bubbles..and too much free edge...you might benefit from a coverage gel. it isn't a rule as such but its far nicer on the eye to have more pink than free edge.

well done for posting

So that's why all your nails look amazing Emms - you photoshop them!!! I'm only joking as you know!

Back to the glitter tips.

What Emms has done here is spot on IMO. Your nails in the other pic (P&W) and here are nicely done, but waaaay too much glitter to pink. To make them more appealing, you should look at a ratio of 2/3rds pink to 1/3rd glitter/whites.
If your client has short nail beds, you can 'custom blend' them to elongate the nail bed for a better overall look. Do a search about custom blending, there's lots of stuff on here.
I love the glitter you have used. I'm a silver glitter freak. What is it? How did you apply it - is it a painted on one or did you do a new set & mixed the glitter with your product?
Your sidewalls are only a fraction out. I'd only want to bring them in a bit tbh.

Well done, keep posting the pics. xxxx

your a clever little thing emms.
much better to see it than try to explain it.

Thanks, yes I can see what you mean about the smile line. These were tips, I guess I could have well in but usually end up with them being uneven then?

I find it quite diffucult to get tips that have got a nice smile line, some of them are really deep, almost a v, I dont like those, and others quite square like the above. I posted another pic earlier with white tips, I though the smile line on those were ok but from some of the advice given they are not quite right either, any tips on tips?

Tips on Tips.....

IMO, it depends what I am actually doing.

If I'm doing pink and whites, then I'd use a natural coloured tip and apply my white & create the smile I felt was right for the client (looking at the clients own smile & eponychium), if I do glitters I use a clear tip.
Don't use white tips at all. In fact, I don't actually tip anyone much, I tend to sculpt on forms 99% of the time.
Sculpting on forms gives me more free license and it much quicker & cheaper - no tip application/sizing/tailoring, no need for adhesives, just prep & go!

Thanks,

Do you find most of your clients prefer Acrylic, I have posted a message in the forum about my timings with Gel as this is all I am trained to use at the moment, perhaps you could maybe provide some advice on the comment I have posted.

All tips, comments, advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks

i find that clients arent educated enough to understand the difference and that as long as you offer them attractive and long lasting nails they dont mind which system that you do it with.

indeed, technicians need to bare in mind that gel and 'acrylic'- properly known as liquid and powder are fundamentaly the same type of chemicals just in a different format.

you can acheive very similar reults with either system if it is applied properly.

i agree with the comments on your smiles. your zone 3 appears well done, a couple more swipes on the sides to make them a tiny bit more parallel and the tip on the thumb appears a little thick. i can see you have potential with a little more practice. and bravo to emsybabe whos photo shop diagram shows you just what to aim for.
