Hi,

I've bought some clear tips and skeleton leaves. I'm hoping to do a set of skeleton leaves on myself this weekend. I love the effect. I've never used clear tips before. Do I need to buff the surface shine off of the tips before adding the leaves? I was thinking this might make them cloudy? Is it necessary if I'm applying leaves to the tips?

Thank you!

removing the shine from the surface of the tip wont make them cloudy hun,
Once you apply your product the cloudy look will go... x

Thank you

Hi,

I'm just about to start my skeleton leave nails :) I'm using acrylic. Sorry for the silly question. How do I stick the skeleton leaves to the tip?

Just read a post in the archives. Is the resin used the same resin you use for fibreglass tips?

Thanks!

Hi Karenlaw,
you can use nail glue to stick to the tip, but better if you use cling film. Put on tip acrylic, when is still wet put skeleton and press it down with cling film and keep it until its hard. The film will gently go from acrylic :)

Thanks for the tip :)

So the acrylic doesn't stick to the cling film? I was going to stick the skeleton leaves on the tips first and then apply them to my nails? I think I'm going to get in a real mess but I will stick with it (no pun intended, lol)

When i did my friends i stuck the leaves to the nails first with nail glue, then proceeded with the rest of the application except i did her with gel.

I just paint the resin (same as used to apply tips yes) to the tip, then hold the leaves in place with my angled tweezers...
It is a bit faffy but Gets better with the more you do xxx

Hi Emmsybabes,

Do you apply the leaves to the tips then apply the tips to the nail?

Thanks :)

I didn't...but I suppose you could yeah, might make it a bit easier ,would definiately make the smile line easier to do lol
