I have a new client, who came on recommendation.
She's an ex-nailbiter, has short nailbeds - which are wide and flat...... not easy to work on anyway.
having not seen her nails with any length on them I did my usual.
Full prep, eclipse tips with most of the well removed, kept them short, all curves in all the right places - they looked great.
No probs initially, infilled at 2 weeks.
Aagh! 2weeks on and they lifted at the sides/corners, so I removed loose product and did another infil/rebal.
Next infil-DISASTER. All nails either lifting, or broken or off altogether! This revealed her own natural nailgrowth. The free edge just curves up...... not 'in the nail-plate', only where the free-edge starts.
The nailgrowth is definately 'pushing' upwards and is pushing the acrylic off. (at the sides where the free-edge emerges from the nailbed).
So I've done a new fullset, and used nail fresh AND primer! she's coming back for a 2 week infil.
Any advice appreciated.
Do I have to conceed that this is a customer who isn't going to be able to grow out her tips and have nno?
Cheers guys.
