I have a client who has been having l+P enhancements from me for about 4 months. She has rebalances every fortnight and she really looks after the enhancements, but I've had to give her two new full sets during this time as after about the 3rd rebalance the nails start lifting really badly at the sidewalls, then she says they 'break off'.
I wouldn't describe her nails as a ski-jump, as I picture that as someone whose free edges 'curl' upwards iykwim, whereas hers grow straight out and upwards. It's even apparent when she has no free edge, as the nail plate in profile looks like a wedge (thick in zone 1 tapering down to nothing in zone 3). I compensate for this by applying tips in a downward angle, as then I find I can build a better apex. I applied a new set for her at the last rebalance as the same thing had happened for the second time. The only reason I can come up with is the shape of her natural nails.
Now I'm thinking off cutting the tip off at the next appointment and sculpting another back on. Has anyone tried this and does it actually work long term? Or will she be a client that needs a new set every 8 weeks?
Thanks geeks.
