I'm looking to take on a new skin care range and I've been looking into Environ. I've recently just done the Jane Iredale make up training course and have been looking into Environ ever since because it looks great. Only thing is that's it's such a big outlay. I'm a one man band in a home salon. Just wondering if anyone's using the products and any advice is welcomed. Thank you

I'm pretty new to this (end of last year). I'm a one man band and a home salon and have CACI, advanced nutritional programme, JI and Environ. I don't work all day every day. I don't need to it sells itself.

Thank you very much for your reply. It's good to know it's working for you. When you work alone sometimes it's scary introducing something new !!!

I love change .. I'd introduce new things daily if I could. You will still need to keep up your marketing but Environ customers seek me out rather than going into town which is about 5 miles away. My business is thriving. .. it's me that chooses not to work all day every day. If you can afford the outlay then it is a fab range and company to get involved with.

Sounds great. I've heard it gives great results so am excited too and great to hear other therapists experience with it. Thank you

Hi I've just done the training for environ last week for the salon I work in. It has great results and its a good product but I wouldn't personally invest in it just because it has a really short shelf life. Once you open a bottle most products should be used within 10-12 weeks which for me I wouldn't get through fast enough as an individual therapist, only a busy salon.

You don't need to hold stock. You don't even need the salon size products for salon use. And let's be honest £500 opening stock order (if you have to) gives you about 10 items. ...You wouldn't open the products unless you had clients. . And as a business i'd expect to use a small bottle within 3 months....I can not justify your comment at all. I don't even work full time or every day. :)

I took on Jane Iredale this time last year and Environ in December. I work alone although our salon does hair too. I wish I had took it on years ago, best thing I ever done. The training is great, and the salon events really do help to boost sales of products and treatments. I always was a bit bored doing facials but absolutely love them now, the results speak for themselves!!

I have had environ for over 2 years now and think I may have had to throw out one treatment gel in all that time. I worked alone for the first year and yes for me it was a huge investment but it had paid for itself many times over. We're now in a salon with 2 rooms and a nail/reception area and that is in no small part down to environ. When we have a skin analysis day my takings go through the roof just on retail. A fantastic range.

Thank you all so much for your replies. Some fantastic feedback. Yes I did understand the shelf life was quite short which I was concerned about in case I didn't end up doing many facials when I start. The skin analysis days sound great and I actually wondered if the Company still came out to do this if you do work alone so that's good to know. I understand lots of retail is involved which is new to me but I'm guessing it sells itself too. One question do you all use jane Iredale make up along side your environ ??

I'm sure squidgernetball wouldn't mind me including her in my answer as I know we both do support Jane iredale and the advanced nutrition programme and the Environ cool peels. I never went on to do the in-salon cosmetic needling only because I don't like blood.

I do have the 100 best seller retail display cabinet of JI and for me personally I am not using this to my advantage. I sell probably three pieces per month... purely as I don't promote it like I should, I removed my make up service altogether as I don't enjoy this area. It is not the product that fails here it is me.

I am selling the supplements very well at the moment. I find these easy to sell alongside Environ I have a small limited stock as these have a longer shelf life.

Yes they will do the analysis days if you work alone and from home.

Ah ok thanks for that. I was half thinking to go all out and get that JI display because I believe you get lots of free retail but it may be worth thinking a bit more about that. The company seem to have an excellent reputation. There is no one in my area at the moment doing Environ so not many people have heard about the treatment so I'm guessing the company supply lots of information leaflets, posters etc...

I actually started with Jane Iredale about 9 years ago but since I started environ I retail loads more ji. I think this is because clients start actually thinking about what goes on their skin. At event days it's also quite easy to link sell, as a client may have make up removed for the analysis then I pop some back on for them. I also find I don't 'retail' as such but inform clients on what environ will do for them and the changes it will make and the fact that the company backs those claims with free skin analysis to show improvements.

Thanks Vicki and thank you to you all for your help and feedback xx

It was also very interesting to see the two page article on Environ skincare in the Times on Sunday 27 April regarding their 'cult' following. This was an article as oppose to an advertorial, or product placement, so quite an achievement for IIAA.

Hi Rapson76, I hope you don't mind but I'd love to chat to you about our new face and body brand Katherine Daniels Cosmetics. It was designed by two skincare specialists, specifically for British salons to treat the most common skin types and conditions, whilst taking into consideration client lifestyle, environment and our climate. Not only are the products and treatments affordable for your clients (with fab efficacy results), but we offer flexible launch deals with a great margin on retail products. If you want any info, please PM me or email me at [email protected] :D Roxie x

Can I just check - you mentioned £500 opening order. I thought it was much more now?? Hopefully not ;-)

The opening stock order is £500 but you have to take the machine which is considerably more!

However you did used to be able to be able to pay in instalments and so it's worth checking to see if this is a possibility.

Thank you all for you help. So I've met the area manager for my area (very nice) and I've booked the training course. I'm excited but very nervous about spending all that money !! Everyone is raving about how if DOES sell itself and the results are amazing so I'm going to take the chance. Just one question if anyone can help me. What does make environ so different and better than other electrical facials. Also has anyone received an environ facial and what did they think. Thank you in advance x
