Hey all!!

I was in salon services the other day and came across the skintruth range i have used tan truth lotion a couple of times and seems to work pretty well on me - as i can't always spray myself properly and don't want to be annoying my boyfriend every thursday/friday to spray me ha ha.

Anyway a friend of mine uses the moisturisers and face masks/polish etc and finds them good ? I was just wondering what others opinions are before i splash out a get the whole range - i generally don't just buy a face cream but an eye cream gel, toner, polish, mask i could go on and on.

They seem really reasonable too??

A lot of people on here dont seem to rate them but I dont have any problems with them at all. I use them mobile and my customers really like them. :)

Its the tanning products that are the problem, its not a good solution, its often on buy one get one free in Sallys.

Purchase a trusted tan like fake bake or Sienna-x

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just a very basic range. By that I mean that you won't get the results that you get from other skin care ranges. Speaking from experience, I'd say that you'd be fine with it unless you've used better quality products, and then you would notice the difference. You get what you pay for.

We use Skin truth at college because its a basic range and affordable.x

I think it's ghastly stuff. We had to use it in college and it made a lot of people's faces sting!
If you're building a business it would be better, I think, to go for a more premium brand. If your facials aren't fabulous you won't get a good reputation for them.
There are lots of brands out there that won't break the bank, or can be added to bit by bit as you can afford it.
Don't compromise!

I don't rate them at all!! before starting college i never had any problems with my skin until we got around to learning facials and i had skin truth used on it, it made my skin sore and broke out in lots of spots.
I use Susan Molyneux in my salon which is also really afforable for you and your clients a bigger and better range than skin truth and the products are much nicer and the packaging and marketing materials are bright and eye-catching.

i cant stand the stuff either! at college it made my skin so sore and sensitive! i would recommend these products to anybody! however everybody is different and it obviously works for some peoples skins

True, but is it a risk you want to take with your clients?
You can imagine the conversation:
"Well, I use this Skin Truth stuff; it's a bit cheap and cheerful and it's been known to upset a few skins. Oh, and it's what colleges use in their training rooms. You happy with that?!"
Um...

I also used their skincare in college. We were told that we would break out as we were having facials all the time - however when we would bring in a model to be assessed on, several of them were also breaking out and a couple of them had 'rashy' patches on them. Our tutor said 'well yes, the products arent exactly great'. The same happened with the natures way stuff before the college changed over to skin truth.

I do have some of the manicure range though and can't complain.

I use Skintruth and Tantruth and love working with them. I have worked with and been trained in Gatineu, Elemis, Comfort Zone and Phytomer and have no complaints with regard to instant results and can honestly say that the results are comparible to the above branded names. I think their collagen masks are fabulous. I would agree however that the range isn't very comprehensive, i.e, no serums, different washes etc.
Retailing is easy as the prices are excellent especially in the current economic climate and clients feedback is good, these are clients that have followed me from salons I have worked in. Maybe its all about how you use your products and whether you have the belief in them. If you're enthusiastic, then this makes your clients enthusiastic.

Steady now...

... Im using skin truth at the moment, i find no problems using it in Manicure and pedicure but in the facials it depends on the skin type and what benifits their looking for in their facials. Iv never been told about stinging or anything but everyone is different.

When discussing my products I dont brag about skin truth as i know its cheap and cheerful but i do explain that its nice for in treatment, not so good for benifits! Iv only just started my own business and couldnt splash on products like Dermalogica like id want to but i am looking into other companies for when the money comes in!!!

I just done a manicure client this afternoon and she really enjoyed the product!!
