can anyone explain the repair and growth cycle of the skin please???

Tell us what you have got so far and we can see if you are doing in the right direction. What do your college notes say?

the epedermis
which have 5 layers

is that it?

You are on the right lines so you need to expand on how the cells change in each of these layers to affect the renewal of the skin.

Remember we are not here to do your homework for you but to help where you are going wrong. Have you done a search on Google too?

The epidermis is divided into several layers where cells are formed through mitosis at the innermost layers. They move up the strata changing shape and composition as they differentiate and become filled with keratin. They eventually reach the top layer called stratum corneum and become sloughed off, or desquamated. This process is called keratinization and takes place within weeks. The outermost layer of epidermis consists of 25 to 30 layers of dead cells.

is this enough detail do you think??

You could put it in more simple terms to show you understand what the above terms mean but yes that is a good description.

So now you have a description think about the question and break it down. Does your answer explain how the skin is repaired and does it explain the growth cycle. If you link parts of the question into your answer then you know that the question has been answered.

Well done.
