Hi there!! Just wondering if anyone could give me any feedback on SkinBase i.e results, customer service, training etc.
Thanks!!:)

Hi I have a skinbase machie have had for year and half. The treatmennt is great but have to be honest i am not impressed with the service i am now on my 2nd machine as they dont seem to last very long. I have today been told the machine i received 6 months ago has served its purpose and no longer works although it came with a 2 year warranty I have to give up on the machine! Not impressed as it costed over 2500 and had i known it would only last 6 - months to a year i would of nerver purchased. There are also lots of hidden charges they dont mention.

Do some reaseach as lots of other machines out there and hopefully better support in the begining they were great but aftercare is shocking!
Just thought I would be honest as would hate the same to happen to someonelse.

Good luck the MDA treatment itself is fantanstic though

Skinbase is now doing a pay as you go system. I have just recently taken it on because of the pay as you go. You rent the machine and included in the price is all the marketing material, crytsals etc. You don't pay for anything else. I have had it less than a month and it's going really well. Results are great.

Your only in a 6 month contract at the end of the 6 months you can hand the machine back or just carry on as pay as you go.

I didn't know that the macghine only lasted 6 months that's really bad. Deffo have a look at other machine and I would really recommended pay as you go if you do go with skinbase.

Kerry - don't suppose you know if you can do the Pay-as-you-go mobile do you? They sent me a flyer about this the other day as I'm obviously on their mailing list somehow. It's definitely something I would consider in the future if so.

I think it lasting only 6 months is shameful, and I'm pretty sure it falls foul of the Sale of Goods Act, in that it's supposed to be of merchantable quality.
If you decide to look elsewhere have a look at Novita - bomb proof machines, and dual paramedical grade.
V impressed with mine, the training and the support.

I'm homebased but do mobile. The machine comes in a case that you can carry around. The machine works like a mobile fone, it has a sim card to work, so as long as you have a signal your machine will work. If this machine only lasts for 6 months then with pay as you go skinbase have to pay for any service or chargers for repairs.

I have just had problems with my minx lamps that is one year old in November and sweet squared have said because it's electcial then it has a one year gauntee which the understanding I have then, is that skinbase have to do something if it is only 6 months old.

I've just received info pack and am going with the pay as you go option. Quite impressed at the moment as their pack gives you lots of promotional stuff but haven't watched the dvd yet. Hopefully getting the machine in mid september so fingers crossed!!
Kerry- Do u mind me asking what skincare range you use?? I'm looking to change but am still undecided, theres too much choice about!! I'm really keen on Environ but couple of salons in the area use it so thats a bit off putting:cry:

Hi ladyh, I have a SkinBase machine and it's great, I have had it about 2 years and never had any problems, when I rang them to see if I should have it serviced they told me as long as I empty and change my filter (which costs £10) it wouldn't need doing and I do that and I have never had any problems! Not sure what hidden charges carlydee has paid?? I haven't had any anyway! I have to buy crystal but you know that when you buy one.

They didn't do a payg option when I got mine but if they still own the machine then it isn't up to you to fix it anyway if it breaks? is it?

I use susan molyuenx ,skincare and it's great.

Iv just phoned them and sent off for the info and dvd ...PAYG sounds great perefct for people starting out or mobile......

Hi,
I'm the MD of SkinBase. I was horrified to read here that our machines only last 6 months and there are hidden charges. I would like to publically state here that this is not the case.

I would like to announce that with immediate effect SkinBase has increased its comprehensive manufacturer's warranty from 2 years to 3 years.

This also includes all of the 711 therapists that already own a SkinBase machine in the UK. We have retrospectively increased their warranties to 3 years also. If you know anyone with a SkinBase machine please let them know that from today, their comprehensive warranty is extended.

We make the award winning machine ourselves here in the UK and we sell them worldwide. We carry all spares for next day delivery and should the need ever arise (it has only happened twice in our entire history) you will receive a brand new replacement the next working day if before 2pm.

I personally stand by every machine we have ever sold and have never knowingly treated a client unfairly.

Would any therapists on here that have received poor service from SkinBase please email me direct at [email protected]. I take our responsibilities here very seriously and I would like the opportunity to correct any sub-standard service issues.

Thank you,
Richard Faulkner

That's brilliant to know, when I buy the machine.

The skinbase is amazing, I have had the treatment myself (4 weeks) and It's great, skin feels softer, lines on forehead and a scar I have there are improving, wished I had taken a before picture, my open pores are looking better, skin is glowing and my spots, well there is hardly any there. People keep saying about my skin, other half wants it doing because of the improvements in my skin. For a therapist I had crap skin but that's not from me not doing anything, just I had always had spots, blackheads, big open pores.

I have only had the machine a month and I had waited about a month before having the machine and the service was great, always helpful when I rang, and I rang alot asking questions, they always ring me before I had chance to ring them. I had orderd more leaflets, crystals etc and they came the next day.

I really can't recommended microdermabrasion enough and skinbase is brilliant.

I got my skinbase system today, I have to say the customer service has been exceptional right from me filling in the form online to getting a call the very next day, the marketing materials sent to me, the phonecalls, my trainer - Natalie, and support that i will receive. Very impressed. Cant wait to do more and get my clients hooked!

Hi there - looking to invest in microdermabrasion to give my daughter an addition to her existing mobile therapy business.

Obviously have seen the Skinbase PAYG but it seems that the more successful her business would become the more potential profit would be given away when compared against buying crystals along with an outright purchased machine

Any help from those with experience would be appreciated.

Thanks

with the pay as you go you get all crystals, marketing material, nozzles and most importantly training and support all free of charge. You are charged a fixed price per treatment that you do. the contract is only for 6 months.

why not try it for 6 months to see what demand your daughter gets, work out how many treatments she would have to do before she made back the cost of the machine and crystals if she bought it outright. this might suprise you.

there is nothing to lose in trying it for 6 months after all.

That's why it's for 6 months, you can after 6 months buy the machine and then all the profit is yours or if you find that the machine isn't worth it and hasn't done as good as you wanted you can hand it back.

The machine is over £2500, a lot of money to pay out and then have to pay for everything, market material, crystals etc. And if it didn't work it's a lot to lose. I have had the machine a month and it''s more poular than I thought, when I took it on I was worried about no one wanting it so £12.00 a week was better to lose than over £2500. And if you don't make a profit after 6 months skinbase will give you your money back.

My Novita machine cost a lot more than £2.5K but that just makes me work a flippin' sight harder at marketing the service so that I recoup the investment. I've had it since May and I worked out that I would need to do 100 treatments to make the money back; I've just, this very morning, carried out my 50th. And yep, I know it's bank holiday, but I'm prepared to work even today to ensure that I'm successful.

Hi there. Interesting discussion.

I have been looking at this too and was struggling with the idea.

Don't know about others, but the market price for mobile microd around here is £20 approx. for 30-40 mins. That leaves just £8 (profit??) for petrol and my wages. Even some salons are not much more than the £20 mark, so not sure where £35+ per treatment comes from.

Maybe if I do 2 clients at a time without turning the machine off then I could get £40 for a cost of £12. Would that be possible?

Thanks

Shouldn't equipment sold in the EU carry a 2 year guarantee, - perhaps it is made in China and they think this doesn't apply check out with trading standards -my diamond touch system is great costs 15p per treatment, with the 2 year guarantee, company is great and I took over £1200 on the open day that they did with me - paid for the machine in instalments best thing I have done

Don't think that the machine can be worth £2500 or they wouldn't put it in for nothing, they make their money on the crystals, check out diamond tiips, the treatment cost is so much less and much nicer as you don't finish up with crystals on your face. my system comes complete with sterilising unit - just fab
