wish they were doing this is the north east :(

wish they would help Londoners. We are being fleeced.

i can well imagine. Theres just no help for businesses and this is the year when the government should be helping businesses rather than dishing out right left and center to people who dont work (know there are some geniun cases but feels like not many at the moment) sorry for the rant

I know I also believe it should be available to all of the UK. Might be worthwhile talking to your local MP to see if there is something in the pipelines for your area. Because of the recession scotland has brought this in to try to take off the burden of small businesses ( a bit of forward thinking by the parliment.....for a change.

A lot of companies have tried to adapt to the "recession" and are offering help to their clients by means of finance or other options.

Once you have decided which products or equipment you want to add to your range or start your business with and which training company you would like to use why not have a chat with them and ask them what they can offer?
Some might be able to offer finance, deferred payment or other options (for example we have introduced a rental scheme which allows you to set up for £10 a week) so its definitely worth trying to find out more and talk to them?

hth:hug:

Well that's typical! All the government did for us was a pitiful reduction in VAT (which applied to everyone) and that's soon to go back up:irked:

Rhonda thank you so much for bringing this to all the Scottish salons attention, very thoughtful of you:hug:

The rest of you should petition someone in your constituency quoting what's happening in Scotland.

Small businesses have been paying far too much for far too long in my opinion for far too little - much less than a household would pay and they would receive more services, like rubbish uplift, something you would think would be mandatory for businesses too, but no, we have to pay an additional charge OVER our rates to get our rubbish taken away. WHY?

I agree totally with Fiona if all small businesses bombard their local MP's they will have to sit up and take notice and hopefully take some action on it.

London hairdressers have worked out that 50% of our TURNOVER is being taken in taxes. Out of the remaining 50% we have to pay our staff, overheads, and ourselves. This situation cannot be sustained forever. I know that some parts of the UK are having it tough, but so is London, and we are paying through the nose. Business rates here are unsustainable.
