I bought a few bottles of Smart Polish at Olympia, colours I liked so I could trial them on myself. I do like it, although without putting a gel topcoat (Gelish or Eco Universal Top Coat) I find it chips easily. Removal is also comparable to other gel polishes.

The thing that DOES bother me though us that I have asked a number of times for the MSDS and am being ignored. I put a comment on one of their daily posts requesting it and that has been removed! There are no ingredients listed on the actual bottles and no indication of where it is made.

If Smart Polish want to be taken seriously, they really need to be responding to pro's that ask questions of they will just end up in the "blue sky" and "CCO" pot. What a real shame.

My experience with the Smart Polish Brand is fairly negative. My first instinct was it is too good to be true and this is what I have found. The polish seems to shrink and all info is very vague. The website is poor all it had is an address and that they are updating it. I went to their stand at professional beauty and the people were rude and again very vague with their info :( very disappointing.

I asked one of the girls at their stand put it on my pinky at Olympia. Wasn't too happy with the finish. It was dull and bumpy, and although I saw the girl cap the free edge, it shrank back pretty badly. Needless to say, I won't be investing in any of it anytime soon.

I too tried Smart polish at the show, 2 different pinks on two different fingers.

The little finger had 2 coats of a medium pink, the ring finger 3 coats of a darker pink but they were still a little streaky on both. probably would have been best with 4 coats for full coverage.

The free edge on both wore within days unfortunately.

I can only say how incredibly impressed I am! Admittedly I only have two colours right now as I was so dubious having tried most of the big brands with some but not total success (this is on a cost basis not just product) but my nails look like they've had a slick coat of polish (not gel) on them and are super shiny 11 days later.

I am in no way a nail specialist and have posted for tips/help with other brands previously. I cannot wait to add more colours as I cannot compete on a nail front as a mobile therapist. To make it worth my while the £ is too high. Therefore with a 10 min apprx ap time as a bolt on to my other treatments with little set up I am thrilled.

I cured mine for 2 mins each layer in LED. Dark chocolate was two coats.
As its much thinner than gel I was more conscious of the polish running but quickly got the hang of it - literally like a nail polish though i've not applied those for years! I would personally still cure the thumbs separately for 30 secs initially just to stop slidage. Incredibly - the top layer was not sticky immediately post cure (I did tap and test to see!) SO SO pleased. Colour suggestions welcome. Oh and I did try and layer Mocha Choca over Dark Chocolate with a bit of improvised nail art in mind - while my technique is terrible and I wont offer such to clients! It stays lovely. Really think they've cracked it xx

Hello, I am fairly new to this but i have just purchased a bottle of Dorothy's Shoes smart polish. As i was a lady came in who had bought some yesterday. It was already wearing around the edge of the nails but to me it just looked too thin all over. I have not been put off however due to the gorgeous colours and i will try it for myself to see the result when done under my salon process. The lady who owns the shop has tried it and only wore it for 1 week but said she really liked it. I will keep you all posted on the results :)

Hello

I work in a salon myself and we were interested in trying smart polish out as we currently use Jessica Geleration we bought 2 colours just to dummy run on ourselves I personally thought application was just as good ive found mine has stayed looking glossy but has had a few odd chips at the tips but I think thats partly down to me doing clients nails myself. I would recommend them for clients who may be dont like the idea of a gel but want something a little more than a polish or even if a client is on a busy time schedule. Worth trying just to see what you think yourselves as everyone is different.

:) Sophie x

Iv not had a problem with these polishes don't cap first coat, cap on 2nd , make sure thoroughly clean nail plate before applying and make sure bottle is mixed ie between your hands for couple minutes. ImageUploadedBySalonGeek1416769788.794140.jpg

i was sent some of this to try out for press, i liked the finish so much i got all of it. it works really well with the builder gel i use and also sticks to the natural nail very well. if your only doing a "shellac mani" u don't need to use a base or top so you save allot of time, thats great for me with all the quick changes i need to do but it works for my regular clients swell

great pigment, bit thicker consistency than Gelish so a little more control. dries under both uv and led, better in led. love all of these ranges, I'm starting to favour this one because of time it saves. no wiping needed either

oh and they have premade soak off pouch thingies! lol no more preparing cotton wool, acetone and wrapping fingers ... they need to bring out bigger sizes tho for big toes.

hope that helps, maybe just buy one colour to see how you get on, i believe they sell them individually also

I haven't tried Smart Polish, but I have used Intelligent Gel. The only problem I found was that it came off too easily, ie if I went anywhere near acetone or polish remover it came off and got messy. How did the Smart Polish hold up against using removers on clients whilst your wore Smart Gel?
