Hi all

I had a client come in the other day with a set of dodgy nails on,,

they bloody well took me an hour and a half to soak them off...

I warmed up the acetone (tip remover) and they still took ages.

Is this because they are MMA...

I wish the council would sort this place out!!!

Cazza :D :D

Another way is do a little test...........
File the nail, and sniff ..................how does it smell ???
Cats pee ???? Sorry buts the closest likening to the horrid smell.........
Are they hard to file, a bit like trying to scratch plexiglass????
Another sure sign..................EMA is a softer acrylic and doesn't take that long to soak, doesn't smell like the cat is marking its territory and does file very easily..................

just a thought
You can make up your own mind from that lol lol lol
love Ruth xxxxxxxx

I love the way you put everything Ruthie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RUTHIE

OH MY GOD IT DID SMELL LIKE TOMMY CATS PIDDLE (TCP)

YES IT DID SMELL OF THAT WHEN I FILED IT DOWN !!!

GOD I HOPE THAT PLACE GETS SHUT DOWN !!!

CAZZA :D :D

hi cazza

well to be honest it isnt always the case ..........
i had a client of mine in today i booked her in for 1pm
for a soak off and gel overlay
well what a nighmare shes had the same set on for 8 weeks
and decided she wanted a break and i couldnt get the dam things off

i used ibd gels on this particular set so i filed and soaked
just took me ages i have been using ibd gels for sometime now
and this has never happened before but there was no lifting or nothing
it was just like trying to get a new set off that id just applied

eventually i got them off but took me over and hour of soaking and filing

so going back to the point i never used mma
but i had probs getting the product off this time
for a reason i dont know why

:?

I have this problem with IBD if the nails are removed at any point from the soak off - they seem to actually get harder! I understand that this is because the repolymerise in a harder set. If you use the type of dish that you can get to the nails whilst they are still in this doesn't happen.

well actually ella

yeh it did thinking about it seem harder
on one or two of the nails

thing is its never happened before to any other of my clients
they just wouldnt budge of this particular client

so time consuming good job i didnt have anyone else booked in for today
else id have gone way overtime

she gave me a ten pound tip so wasnt to bad

thanks for advice though

:D

You techs in the UK have no real idea of what is to come. Volume/discount nail shops, many using MMA product is going to hit the UK like a TIDAL WAVE.

We have expericence with this nail biz style in the USA.
You know how many fish and chip joints are on the corners of the streets of London --- well that is how many of these quickie nail shops there will be within a fairly short time.

I give you this good advice
Do NOT waste your time and your energy with Boy I sure hope this place gets shut down.
You UK nail techs need to begin taking action NOW or end up being left in the dust.

EDUCATE YOURSELF
FIRST EDUCATE YOURSELF
KNOW EVERYTHING there is the know about your competition

((( dont give me any crap about how they are not YOUR competition --- they will be ))))

THEN
how about doing something that almost no American techs did over here in the USA
(( and that is why the USA is now Dominated by the quickie shops ))

THAT IS
open your own 6 station high volume / low prices quikie nail salon (using EMA products)
BEFORE
the MMA quickies take the good all the good corner locations
=======================================
nail techs in the USA did not do that
they mostly wasted all the early time with whining
something to think about

Would now be a good time, to hit the media on a whole, and educate all of our customers and potential customers. Some mags have had articles, now Watchdog.. So maybe a organised campaign for the likes of More, Glamour, Bella, Zest, Woman etc.

Potential customers are totally unaware of evil  , products and unscrupulous people whose only objective is money, who are out there.

So lets get them educated, checklist for what to ask, what to look for.
