I seem to constantly have a spotty chin, at least three there at a time, they go & come back in new places, I also occasionally have them at bottom of nose / side of nose, sometimes one in between my eyebrows also. I am now starting to have a few scars on my chin.

I use Simple cleanser, toner & moisturiser in the evening after washing my face with water & flannel.

I am wondering why this is happening (am thinking it maybe my contraceptive as this was changed 6 months ago)?

I am wondering what products (if any) I should use to help prevent spots / or help them heal quickly?

Also, to reduce / get rid of the scarring - I have heard good reports about Roc renewex microdermabrasion kit - any other thoughts?

Also, daily I use maybelline mineral foundation, if I go out I use maybelline matt mouse, any thoughts on what I should be using?

Could well be the change of pill if you have not had this problem before. Has there been a change in your diet, lifestyle, work place?

You don't mention what simple products you are taking. Are they supermarket or basic pharmacy products? You may need to change to a more professional prescriptive product for your face and a consultation with a good therapist could help you with this.

As you are using a face cloth it could also be that you are passing dirt etc.... from your face onto you cloth and then re contaminating your face when washing again. Do you launder your cloth regularly?

Cosmetic sponges/brushes can also be a source of contamination and should ideally be washed in warm water with eg. mild shampoo once a weak.

These are just some things to think about.

My diet has changed since January, but has got healthier.

It is the Simple range I am using - white bottles with predominantly green writing.

Yes I am using a face cloth - so that is a possibility.

I put my mineral foundation on with the brush it comes with - maybe an idea to wash that every week or so, if I use normal foundation I use my fingers - having washed them first

Just to add my 2cents worth,..I've used this brand of mineral makeup, and my skin broke out big time!!! Unfortunately they seem to be riding on the back of the "mineral makeup boom", and if you look at the ingredients I'm sure I remember it's not all mineral at all!!! One of the more professional make up ranges might suit your skin better?

Obviously it's not just the makeup, as Mrs clooney has already mentioned, it could be your diet, your cleansing products, your facecloth, your lifestyle, your stress levels, whether or not you get enough sleep, hormone levels....the list goes on and on!!!!

Anyone here will have their recomendations for products based on professional ranges, and all their recommendations are equally valid...but the way to get the best advice really is to go to a salon, have a facial and ask the therapist to really look at your skin and advise you what might be best. Also, don't expect miracle straight away...you really do need to be using homecare products for about 3 months, religiously, to see the true results!!

What make up range did you use after? Do you still use same range now & is it ok?
