I am wondering what others do when making up a bride who has had a spray tan as I always worry if i'm doing the right thing!

Is it still appropriate to apply foundation (to the correct shade of course lol) when she has had a spray tan?

I know personally I still need coverage for blemishes even with a tan but then it is tricky getting the colour right to avoid a mask like look!!

Would love to know what everyone else does and any tips for this situation...please!

Just bumping up in the hope someone can help me! x

I can only suggest that your bride-to-be gets a spray tan just before you do her trial make-up, so you can test to see how the make-up would look on the day (making sure she has the same type of spray tan just before her big day so there are no issues with you perfectly matching the make-up to her tan and then finding she's gone for a lighter or darker tan)... hope that helps as I am not a qualified skin geek but that's the approach that I would take if I were and was unsure :)

mineral makeup! it will even out any uneven patches and still let the tan show through. You can use a mattifying powder if there is any shine, and a hydrasol to set it for the day.

I just re-test the foundation and mix to the correct shade again on the wedding day. It happens all the time even if you ask a bride if she is having a tan on the trial and she says no and they almost always change their mind by the day!

I find that people need less coverage generally with a tan though so sometimes just use a tinted moisturiser or gel bronzer to even out and concealer where required.

I always put foundation over a spray tan - to even the skin tone and so that make-up stays put.

Sometimes I have found spray tans (not done by me I hasten to add) have been uneven around the nose area so - foundation and corrections are essential.
