Spray tan gun leaking

My spray gun is leaking from the lid , any ideas why this is happening?

By the lid you mean where the cup attaches?

There maybe something wrong with the threads on the cup, like they could have bent out of shape with use.

Depends on what gun it is. Is there a seal that cold have become over compressed by tightening too much so that it now isn't creating the seal it should?

My gun has a removable seal and when mine was leaking ages & ages ago I took the seal out & poured boiling water over it & left it to soak for a little and when I dried & put back it worked great.

I echo the over tightening!!! Try making it secure but not over tight as it seems to cause the tan to froth and then spill out of the top. I have had the same issues and this has done the trick.
