Hi all, I'm new :)

Just wondering on average, how many spray tans do you get per litre of liquid?

Thanks xxx

20 to 25 per litre at an average of 40ml per person sprayed at 6 to 10 inches from the skin any less then you will not get the desired effect

Really? Do you spray twice? I am getting 8 maximum out of a litre!

no there is no need to spray twice if the entire skin is covered in one coat then it will develop evenly
we have a unique system in our training that only moves your client 4 times and covers the clients whole body
hence 40 to 50 ml per tan

Ok, I was trained by TanTrick...maybe I should start spraying once. If I do spray once will it affect the colour intensity?

I cannot comment for tantrick solution but if they train to spray twice with there solution for the required effect then that may be why your only getting 8 tans per litre
we train one coat and 5 hours developing time that gives our clients 20 + tans per litre
a double coat would only make the bronzer look darker bronzer is only a make up and would make no difference to the showered off final tan

Great, thanks a lot for your help. Much appreciated :D

sorry Steve, but I am going to disagree with you again

I spray average 25-30ml per person, spray twice as taught (Tantrick) and do get the desired effect - maybe its the gun? lol ;)

i was trained with sienna and was told around 15 tans, around 50ml per tan. in the training manual it does say if you are getting half way through solution with only 5 tans done then to get in contact with them and they'll help to find out why/what you are doing wrong. x

This is indeed the way Tantrick used to train when you did your training way back then.

Since ownership by wow factor we advocate a single application and if needs be a light misting over especially to areas where the customer wants that bit extra.

Weather you do a single or a double or a single with a light misting over and in order to get the optimum tan outcome and to be as economical with your treatment costs usage should be between 25ml and 50ml max....no matter what solution or training you have had with whatever brand or supplier you use or were trained with.

Using any more solution is simply throwing your money down the drain as it will not improve the tan outcome

HTH

I also use 25-30ml per full body application. Try spraying once only and maybe even turning your gun down a little and spraying a touch closer to the body as you may be losing a lot of tan in the air.

How long ago did you have your training as this is far far to much.
Try turning the output nozzel of your gun down a tad before each spray tan application over the forthcoming week or so and hold that gun 6/8 inches away from the skin...make sure your speed of movement across the skin is relative to the output volume of your gun...sounds difficult but through usage its comes in time.

If you feel the need for any further assistance why not contact your trainer...im sure she will be only to happy to have you back for a top up session or alternatively you could go along to another training session as a model for her and maybe pick up some further tips and or even have a go at spray tanning while the trainer watches you.

Just a thought as you really do need to get that consumption down..will save you8 money and I wager the tan outcomes will be better than they are right now.

The key is to trust in the solution your using ...you dont need to spray tan the customer brown during the session....the tan will develop and they will be brown in time

HTH

Stop copying me Collin! :lick:

Usually I get 20 (approx) sprays out of every litre of solution, any less and your gun may be turned up too high or you're spraying too far away from the body and creating over spray (wasteage).

Always try and be as economical with your spraying as possible as it will save you money in solution and give your client a more natural looking tan. Too much spray on the body will give poor rub off as it overloads the skin and can produce a patchy / scaley effect.

Hope this helps!

I was trained by Tantrick. I spray once and use 35-40ml.

50mls is an average amount to tan a body well, using a good quality solution. Any more is a waste, any less you wont get a good result. Good training can be a strong factor here. There's lots of mis-information around, talk to your supplier and trainer. If your still not getting good results, you need to look around for better training and advice.

your so on the money rep point from me for this post :D

Hi,

Do you all still use the 50 mil for really large clients? I have done a couple of larger clients and have gone way over the 50, don't know if it's me over compensating and watching the solution output too much or if it was a genuine need to use that amount. The client was somewhat larger than an average person.

I was trained one year ago at my local college. However the training admittedly was poor. I was only shown how to apply the tan and not how to use the gun. I was shown to spray twice.
I was never told how much solution to use and a lot of solution was used in training.
I will try spraying once and turning my gun down, thanks.
