Hi Everyone

I have just got my own tan machine and have just had a little try on my very kind boyfriend and It seems to be coming out far too fast. The one I used in training seemed to be on the perfect setting. I have had a little play around with it and tested it on paper and seems to be alot better. I'm just a bit worried now on trying it on other people incase it does the same. Did any1 else have this problem? The tan does seem to be quite runny.

Thanks Geeks x

Tell him to go and get a shower straight away so you can have another go,

when you are testing it on the couch roll to get your gun setting right the paper should be just damp on the top layer,
the layer below should still be dry, (you know, each sheet has 2 layers)

have a play with your gun and couch roll while he washes the first one off before it takes and then spray him again so you are not worrying when it comes to doing a client, hth

What machine do you have?.

Once you get the spray right on the couch roll and move on to flesh remember not to spray too close or move too slowly as this can also cause the solution to be too wet.Its a bit like anything ,you can always add more but its a bugger when you have done it too wet and its running all over the place.

Just keep practicing and i dont know what solution you are using but they can be quite forgiving and even if it looks all patchy its probably just the guide colour and as long as the solution has covered all the skin, once its washed off it will be ok.

Honestly i was rubbish at first and now im really good using less solution,no patchiness and very quick, its a lot to do with confidence and getting to know your equipment and solution, youll be fine in no time.

One bit of advice i will say is imperative is really look after your gun and always clean it properly straight after treatments and thoroughly every week.

Which machine are you using? Your trainer will have taught you how to change the amount of spray to the optimum level and how and when you need to alter it?

It is perfectly normal when you set out to over spray ....just try and adopt the "less is more" theory in your minds eye when applying spray tan solution.
Turn your gun right down..better to under spray than to over do it...you can always turn up the gun to suit your specific style once confidence in what you are doing becomes natural.

The mere fact that you have posted this means you are someone who "wants to get it right"

Less is more
