Hello,

I'm looking into getting a mobile spray tan machine, been reading lots and lots of threads on here and doing reseach on the internet. BUT still very confused in which one to get!

I would like the option of the machine to hold out to do partys too.

So am i correct in saying that the maxi mist hvoo8 is good for this? i've heard alot about the T200 then what about 5008.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh so confused which one is best!

Thank you in advanced

I am a supplier of spray tan machines and in my honest opinion the best machine is the 5008 its a british machine built exclusively for spray tanning it has the same pressure as the t200 and the same size nozzle
the T 200 was built for the american market and for usa voltages it was modified to run in the uk
the 5008 is around £100 cheaper to buy than the t200 it has a 12 month warranty if its purchased from a good company :D and comes with 3 spare solution pots and lids
we used to sell the t200 but had a nightmare with it eventually, we stopped supplying it
Maximist 5008 all the way but there are 2 machines called maximist so be carefull

well I love my T200 :D touch wood not had a problem with it so far and I do work it hard! ;)

I tried the 5008 and hated it (eh Colllin? lol) I had a T200 originally and only tried the 5008 because of an offer that Sienna were doing that seemed like a bargain and I was getting busier and busier with parties and though it was a good idea to get one as my T200 wouldn't last forever...

I suppose if you have never been used to the T200 then you wouldn't notice that the 5008 sprays a lot wetter, uses a lot more solution and has a big cup hanging down that gets in the way when spraying feet! lol... I also thought the parts on the T200 were a lot more robust looking being metal instead of plastic, I also didn't like the push fit of the hose on the 5008, much prefer the fitting of the T200. The 5008 is a fair bit bigger too and wouldn't fit into my bag so I wasted 40 pounds buying it a bigger wheeled trolly thing and then ended up swapping for another T200!

The only thing that I preferred about the 5008 was that the gun and cup stood up on their own, other than that give me the T200 any day of the week! :wink2:

i have the 5008 i get 20 tans from a litre and love my machine :D

That works out at 50ml per tan, I reckon I get 40 tans per litre on average out of the T200 :D

the 5008 and the t200 have exactly the same size adjustable nozzle aperture and run at the same psi,if they are set correctly they will deliver the same amount of solution and produce the same spray pattern hence the same amount of solution per tan the brass fittings on the t 200 are over engineered and they get hot, you dont NEED !! push fit brass couplings at 1.7 psi they may look good but they serve no purpose

and the copper windings in the motor are the worst i have ever seen its thinner than human hair
but if you like the way it feels then thats a personal thing.. however all the major tanning companies now stock the 5008 over the t200

Just to confuse you more........lol have you looked at the piggy? I got mine with kit from Fake Bake last year I love it! have never had a problem with it (touch hairy wood! lol) I have notice quite a few threads on folks having problems with other machines, mechanical & spraying, I'm either very gifted  or the piggy is easy as to set and spray, (probably the latter of the 2 lol) :D hth xx

Well, it didn't matter how much I turned my gun down I couldn't get it to spray the same, even had a trainer come round to try to convince me how good my new machine was and she said at the time that it does use more solution, think that was the general opinion on here at the time too...

You are right, it is a personal preference, I suppose it's just what you get used to, but if my T200 broke tomorrow (chances are it will now! lol) I would replace it with another one :D

:D:D well if your happy with it thats great

Now I'm real confused :o I don't know if I should get the piggy or the HV5008??? I'm only starting out, but I would like to invest wisely. so maybe buying a machine that I could use if I had a lot of spray tans in one go. I've heard the Hv5008 is good for this but what about the piggy?

Sorry for the questions!!

reading through these replies I can fully understand why the original poster is even more confused now.

What the various answers here indicate clearly is that personal preference plays a majour part in making a decision with which machine to go with.

However what is more important is the obvious....available budget spend and perceived usage volume.

If budget is tight you really cant do any better than the HV5008 machine which will do a grand job for you and cope with your business growing.

If you have a tad more funds available then the Minimist(T100/200) will do the job as well as the HV5008 machine and is a bit more ergonomic in design and the gun sits better in the hand than the HV5008.

As for the HV700....purely from a professional perspective in so far as quality of build and reliability is concerned....unfortunately I would have to suggest giving this machine a wide berth.....there are some users who are happy with this machine however there are many many more who have literally thrown it in the bin after a couple of months and gone off and purchased either the HV5008 or the Minimist machine

HTH

Hey
I have both of these machines that you are looking to buy, I prefer the 5008 it's far more robust than the piggy, I am still trying to get used to the gun but it was the same when I started with the piggy 3 years ago so if I was in your shoes I would buy the 5008:D
HTH x

Thank you everyone.

Think i've made up my mind! xxx
