I was originally trained in St Tropez at college (manual application) and then within a salon (Spray gun application), but since 'going alone' I am in the process of renting a room within a fitness gym which is predominently male but with some female members - and they want me in to help bring more females in as well as look after the males.

The gym is a competition body building gym as well as your run of the mill fitness gym and I have been asked to provide spray tanning treatments, which isn't a problem but the kit and product choice is blowing my mind a bit.

I have been looking at Ebay and Sienna X websites a lot this last week but the problem I have with Sienna X is that the lads won't want to buy the retail products because of the bright pink bottles they come in.

Also, initially for 6 months I have been given a trial to see if we all get along and benefit from each other (which we both think it will but we have a contract stating this anyway).

So, because I'm not sure what will happen for sure in 6 months time I don't want to spend a fortune so what kit is best and which solutions would be best (in your honest opinions)

Also, as the initial room is of a small size (10ft x 8ft) and has no natural ventilation (i.e a window) I am required to purchase an extractor fan aren't I?

Also, would I need to do training (and if so who with is the best) being as I am qualified in St Tropez manual and have been shown how to do S.T spray.

I'm so sorry for all the questions but I've been driving my hubby mad with these questions and he's not even beauty minded let alone trained hehe :)

It's best to try a variety of different tanning solutions and see which ones you like best. Most companies will give you a sample to try. I use celebrity secrets and when i foned to enquire my rep came round and did a spray tan to show me what the solution was like. She is not too far away from you in Quinton so if you pm me i will send you her details and i'm sure she will come and spray someone for free for you. As for training you will need to be trained to get insurance. Tonilee does training in the midlands so maybe you can pm her and get some training sorted. good luck :)

hi im the same as you i rent a room in a gym and have recently started doing spray tanning i had many samples sent out and in the end i went for tantrick. They have got posters and pre/aftercare leaflets especially for men and different ones for women so you have the bst of both worlds. i had st tropez training at college but i found manual tan took to much time and i didnt like the colour. i then used sunsations spray tan at my old salon but when i started on my own i still done the training. I found their start up kit very reasonable and their customer service is fab they cant do enough for you. good luck hun:lol:

DONT let the pink retail items put your male clients off. Sienna X is a great product. Give them a call asap asap and tell them your concern, i can promise you they have a backup plan!!!!!
