Hi geeks,
It looks like you guys are making great money by doing spray tans. I bought a machine and a tent last year. But to be honest, I have not done many since then, because I work from home and my room is small and painted in light colors. I find it was so messy:mad:, I was spending so much time cleaning the room, that finally I just gave it all up. I still have all the equipment, and it is a shame not to use it. Beside, many clients of mine are asking for it. Would you help me with any advice or tips how to protect the room and all the stuff around it from getting tan dusty.
Will be very greatful for your help

your tent should stop any overspray, but I would get an extractor fan also and make sure you wipe over the tent etc after every spray?

What type of system do you have...airbrush or HVLP?
Do you have adequate overspray extraction?

Sounds like you definitely need the extraction unit (small room)
and it sounds like you could be working too wet, producing more over spray than normal,
you can alter how much solution comes out of the gun when you are spraying, this needs to be turned down hun, hth

I dont think you can stop every little bit but i definately find a difference using an extactor and also putting the plastic bit back on the roof of my tent rather than leaving it open.
Some solutions have darker guide colours than others and are more obviously messy and also having your spray up more than you need to will cause more over spray

thanks a lot for all your advice.
I don't want to sound stupid, but what is extractor, are there different ones for different machines:eek:?

I don't use an extractor, and as my nails room is too small I do all my spray tans in my conservatory.

I can honestly say that I have never had any problems with this. It is a white conservatory with white windowsills and I have not had any problem. I think your problem might lay with your technique - could you contact your trainer for some extra tuition as this might make your life easier -HTH

An extraction unit removes all the over spray from the air that you are working in so reduces the clean up process,
it is also a health benefit as you are not breathing in all the over spray,
there are lots of different ones on the market,
you can get ones that just sits where you want it to and has a handle so if you work mobile its easier to carry around and you can get ones that fit into the rear of the tent,
if you go to most spray tan websites they will have them on there for you to see,
try this one www.wowproducts.co.uk

you can use which ever type you prefer hth

thanks again guys,
I'll do a refresh course, I think i might use it incorrectly. And I'll buy the extractor too.
