hi

there are a few reasons why tans could be 'yellow' looking - you probably need to talk to them to find out answer

some causes (but probably not limited to) of yellow tans are

  • skin types 1 and 2 tend to turn yellow easiest - products with anti-oxidants can help
  • poor exfoliation/or product build up on skin - full tan prep needs to be given to client
  • lotions/soaps residue on skin - hair inhibiting lotions can cause yellowness - again give full tan prep guidelines to clients
  • hormones - women who are pregnant, menstruating or going through hormonal changes
  • medications -some medications that affect the skin can also affect tan development
did you give your clients full tan prep guidelines? and do full consultation as most of the reasons for yellow tans are down to poor prep before tan or clients not advising you of something that could affect tan rather than anything you might have done.

although I wouldnt have expected everyone to be yellow out of a group

if it was down to product - ie old / stored incorrectly /wrong selection of DHA strength- the resulting tan colour would be probably be orangey or green looking not yellow

I would explain some possible causes of yellow tans and take it from there

as has been mentioned above if you have used a high dha on a pale skin type you can get a tango orange/yellow unacceptable result with some solutions
were all 3 ladies the same skin tone and what solution was you using? (dha %)
