Im assuming by referring to "blokes" you mean males...but like us blokes refering to the opposite sex as "chicks" LOL

Anyhoo's...spray tanning a "Bloke" is potentially daunting if you've not done it before but remember he is a "bloke" and therefore much easier to please and more than likely a dang sight easier to please than spray tanning a female(chick)

He will undoubtedly be more nervous as a first trimester than you will be...so portray that to you...well this is a breeze in the park and that you've done loads of blokes(males) before.

The only real major difference between doing a bloke(male) and a chick(female) is that aside the fact you are more likely to get a tip from a bloke(male) than a chick(female) is the hair on the bits your going to spray tan.
The trick is not to get all hot and bothered about this....where there is excessive hair spray up the hair growth line I.E. on legs spray slightly upwards..this allows the solution to travel more freely towards the skin.
If you do get beading of solution on the hairs..well simply blow air from your gun so that the droplets leave the hair and splash onto the skin....

Spray tanning blokes(males) is daunting but ...well once you've done it a couple of times its a breeze and you wonder what all the fuss is about .

Good luck and do keep us posted on how the blokes(Male's) tan out come...well outcomes LOL :lol::lol::hug:

ohh thats good, so everything in theory should be the same as a female?! just worry as blokes generally have drier skin etc well some so i didnt want the tan to stick etc xx

Actually you have brought up a very valid point here.

Us blokes(males) aren't as regimented as you chick's(females) are when it comes skin care maintenance...we simply cant be bothered with all that exfoliation and moisturising stuff...its not in our jeans so to speak LOL.

So a very valid point as I for a bloke(male) is concerned have tried numerous spray tan solutions and have adopted my favorite as one with which I as a bloke(male) dont need to bother with all that fluffy stuff before the spray tan application and after as well.

So for blokes(males) its really worth finding a solution that can cope with lack of maintenance both before and after the tan application...a solution heavily fortified with Aloe Vera normally does the trick.

That..aside from the hairs(although I have spray tanned a number of very hairy chicks(females) ..is possibly the main difference between the two sexes....I hadn't realized that before until your observation so thank you for that

HTH and good luck spray tanning your first...well...erm "bloke":lol::lol::hug:

ha the reason i put "blokes" was because i thought it a put "guys" people might of not looked at the post, although i could of use males haah

ok so normally when i spray i go down the legs do you think going up the legs is the best way then? my tan isn't packed with aloe vera so would you advise moisturise a bit heavier in drier areas?

I generally spray upwards especially on legs as the air from the gun separates the hairs a bit and helps the tan go on the skin. Any solution that is on the hairs can be blown on to the skin with the gun.
Also, if your client is folically challenged, then just get him to bend his head down and give it a quick spritz :D

Lol..only pulling your plonker (that's a blokes thing)with the blokes stuff Dixie LOL

mmm try going up the leg with your gun( Gun ..now that's a cowboy kind of thing so must be a bloke thing LOL) and tilt it slightly upwards so the solution sprays up the hairs thus reducing the amount of "beading on the hairs.

If you can appeal to his feminine side(yep us blokes do have one but that's a whole different subject) get the poor geezer(bloke or male whichever is your preference) to exfoliate before the tan application and moisturise after...you know how you Gal's( Chicks/females) do...its the same kind of thing only the bloke can do it much faster as he has bigger(be it more hairy) hands than you gal's have LOL

Good luck with the cowboy/geezer/bloke/man/chap/mr/ ..well you get the jist by now LOL :lol::lol::hug:

If your client is a baldy bloke like me dont forget the top of the head and back of the ears HTH

In addition to the great advice already given. Make the "bloke" aware that shaving his face will obviously make his face fade much quicker and that he may well as a result have a whiter chin and mouth area to the rest of him.

Hope it went well!

Amen to that Steve...of course no problems there with solution pooling on hairs :lol::lol::hug:

Of course always avoid spray tanning a "blokes" bald head if he has shaved it or parts of it for at least 24 hrs prior to the spray tan application.

i have step ladder for when tanning our male clients. i am only 5ft 3 and some of them are very very tall............pls dont laugh , but i have it in the corner and then if i cant reach back of heads etc I find it rather helpful!

Sorry tigi...I know you asked us not to but :lol:..is that 5'3" tall with or without shoes on.

Good on you though for being so ingenious with your step ladder close at hand.....what do the guys(Blokes) make of it when you say...just a moment sir(bloke) while I get me steps out so as I can reach the back of your head and how do they react when you then put a high altitude oxygen mask on :lol::hug:

I think i should get me some steps!
I've got to spray a 6 foot 5 bloke on Friday and there is a 3 or 4 inch step into my spray booth, so you're talking about 6 foot 8/9 and i'm only 5 foor 4! Full stretch and tippytoes for me!!

You could always head off to B&Q and get those plasterers stilts or those sprung loaded stilts used for running ...you could always bounce up and down as part of your technique :hug:

:idea:Don't forget to wear a crash hat cos if you bounce to high your gonna bang your head on the ceiling

Tan goes on chaps ;) pretty much the same as it does females. I must say i still get a little blush when spraying the odd couple i have had ;)
