Just out of curiosity, do any of you spray tan bodybuilders?:)

I dont as I offer a ladies only service, and no lady bodybuilders have come forward!! LOL

However would a spray tan be dark enough for body builders, am sure I watched a documentary on bodybuilders and they were painting on a really dark solution almost like the stuff you whack on your garden fence!!

I have done one of the lads at the local gym once, he was quite dark anyway, but i done him 12%, then he got another one the day after! It looked horrid, but thats what he wanted!!!

For competitions, they usually used specialised bronzing creams and liquids which are really dark - some people almost turn black. Some have 2 parts to them. The one I know of goes on orange, and then there's a special cream you put on over the top. It leaves the person feeling sticky. One of the ladies I work with does competitions and this is what she was telling me she has to do each comp to get the right colour.

I know a few other bodybuilders who use a solarium on a regular basis. I've never met a bodybuilder that gets a spray tan though I'm sure there would be some who do it but not usually for competition colour.

Most bodybuilders use specific tan products that are designed and marketed for their use - it is also a difficult market to break into, but if you can then it could be lucrative but I'm not sure most spray tans will be dark enough.

I suspect your best bet may be to do a marketing campaign off-season for the guys and gals to try it out and see if it can be dark enough for them with a result they are happy with. If you want to find a good local gym popular with serious bodybuilders pop along to your nearest WH Smith and pick up a copy of Beef magazine, its one of the few UK oriented mags for the sport.

If it does work out for you please make sure you let us know! :)

Thanks for the replies.

I think you're right - have just found pics online and they definately look darker. Tbh, it's not really my cup of tea, but someone suggested it as I'm interested in body art too.
