Hi Everyone

I completed my training with Louise in the Tantrick spray tan system last week and so when I get my kit I will be spray tanning everything that moves for practice.

I have set up so that I can provide the service at my home salon, and I will be offering spray tan parties also, but I was wondering whether any of you had had any luck offering the service in any other way?

Are there any events or places that I could target do you think for this service?

Any ideas or help appreciated

Hi, why dont you try:

dance clubs
cheerleaders
morris dancing groups
theatre groups

Any place that people put on performances.

I got letterheads, price lists, business cards printed free (you only pay postage costs & if you choose slow delivery you will only be paying about £5) @ www.vistaprint.co.uk On the letterheads I did an introduction letter (you'll find loads of templates on web) & sent them along with price lists and business cards to these groups. If you manage to get any of them as regular clients then you'll be laughing as the groups are very large.

If your not too fussed where you work, try strippers lapdance clubs as I would imagine they would want to look good.

Just a thought, Good luck.

I am sure Lou will have given you the Marketing Manual with your training and there are some excellent strategies in there for getting yourself 'out there'.

Katrine give you some excellent ideas above.. and you could also try targeting other places such as asking to put up promotional posters in hospital staff rooms (I have had a few tanning parties booked through this method), local nurseries, sports centres, large business with a lot of employee's. Having the tan yourself is one of the best promotional ways of advertising and getting people interested.

I had my spare wheel logo'd with mobile spray tanning when I first started out and this brought a fair amount of interest too....

Good luck.

I have found Lapdancers, and travel agents make excellent clients!! Target these places with ads!!

Well done on your training.

It does take time to build up your client base so dont go panicking if things perhaps take a bit longer than you would like.
Some good ideas already here.

You might also think about getting down your local gym and having a word with the owners and offer that you come in for say a 4 hr slot early one evening and spray as many people that line up in front of you free of charge.

After each one they all get your card or flayers and that way you will defiantly generate some new customers for only a few hrs work.
The gym will be happy because through you they are offering their customers something for free.

If it goes that well maybe the gym would want you to come in once a week/month to spray their customers on an ongoing basis and you can come to some sort of profit split..say 60(you/40(them) split.

Talk to your trainer...im sure you can persuade her to persuade me to assist you with some liquid and additional marketing material to help the cause.
Good luck with your new business  and enjoy spreading the

Any military bases near by? They are my main source of income,(June/July & Nov/Dec) especially for things like Summer Ball, Christmas Ball various events throughout the year which require the ladies to get dolled up and the blokes to look smart. I end up with a living room full of people a couple of nights before any of these events.
-Drama /theatre groups
-High school- pre Prom

Word of mouth is probably my best advertising.

Ooh thank you so much for the ideas! Some of them are gems and I would never have thought of them.

I'm based in Leeds so there's no shortage of lapdance clubs to target.

Thanks again geeks for your help
