Hi guys

I have a question for you. I have recently started spray tanning and to promote what i do i have been getting my mate to spray tan me - the tan is always fine on my body but patchy on my face (i think i just look dirty lol). I do have very dry skin. What i wanted to know was if i moisturise my face before having the tan do you think it would come out better - also with the solution (please don't laugh) do you think there is any way i could maybe mix up my moisturiser with some solution to make my own self tan and if so what quantities would you use?

btw i am using tantrick

thanks xx

best not to moisturise before a tan as it will act as a barrier.
Make sure you exfoliate before...do the tan and then apply a moisturiser with DHA impregnation on an ongoing basis thereafter...the moisturiser will keep the skin...well erm ..moist and the DHA will elongate the tan.

HTH

The problem with spray solutions is that it will 'grab' at any dry patches. I get my clients to put a bit of moisturiser on elbows, knees, backs of the ankles, inbetween toes and fingers and any other particular dry patches they may have.
If they have dry patches on their face then i would get them to apply it there too. Only a small amount though but it does help as it stops that patchiness :)

Thank you both for your replies

Colin - do u mean put the moisturiser on once the tan has developed or as soon as u have sprayed it. I always moisturise really well anyway as i have dry skin - moisturising after the tan has developed just doesn't work as it has already gone patchy by then and attached to all the dry patches.

I was thinking of using a very light moisturiser or just moisturising in the morning and doing the tan at night - i was thinking i would probably have to spray my face quite regularly - am willing to try anything as i love the tan on my body but hate it on my face and i'm not the sort of girl to wear a lot of make up and i'm piling it on at the minute to hide the imperfections in the tan lol. If i can't find a solution i will have to stop doing the tans on myself as it is not a very good advert for the brand

Apply the moisturiser just prior to your tan. You don't want to put it all over as Collin rightly says, it will act as a barrier.
As the solution grabs at any dry patches, put moisturiser on your dry bits on your face. Yes it will act as a slight barrier but as the dry bits would go darker anyway it will even it out with the rest of your face.

thanks angelina - i will try this and see how it turns out xx
