Hi girls, I sprayed a new client last night and she was fair skinned so opted for Fake Bake Original. She wanted her legs to be really tanned as she is going to a party tomorrow and is wearing a dress with no tights. I gave her legs a double spray and all seemed to look fine when I left. She called me this morning to say her legs were really patchy, really dark at the top and almost white at the bottom. Then she told me she has just started the menopause. Now I know we are told in our training that hormones can affect the skin but have any of you encountered this problem?? I went round to see just now and they do look really patchy and her hands were also completely white. She swears she had nothing on her skin at all that could have caused a barrier and that she used nothing after showering either. I have to go back later this evening to 'sort them out' - but I don't know how. HELP!!!!

I heard that women going through menopause have the same hormones as pregnant women. So maybe the skin issues are the same

mmm unfortunately as with pregnant females menopausal females can cause therapists problems.
The thing is that the body is all over the place which is bound to surface on the skin which is your canvas on which to apply your spray tan.

You really should discuss the possibilities of a spray tan not coming out as perhaps it should with these two categories of females.

Im assuming your customer followed your advice on pre tan prep ,and that your technique was right..therefore it follows that this is a specific customer related problem probably caused by the menopause side effects.
Solution..well its a difficult one..maybe some mild exfoliation to any grabbed areas with a touch up to areas where the tan hasn't taken or even possibly an application of a moisturiser fortified with DHA may well help blend in the differences in tan outcome

HTH
