Hi folks, I'm currently creating new theory material for the new SQA hairdressing standards. Within the new setting unit there is hair wrapping. I'm looking for some feedback..
*Technique to achieve look
*How often it is used, is being used!?
*Which type of hair are you using it on?
*Recommended drying time?

Any information is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Michelle

Actually that might not even be the same thing lol

It was used to straighten hair

As cams has said, it's an old technique once used, to straighten hair.
Many moons ago, when working in London, we would use this method to smooth the hair of our Arab ladies.
After the hair is washed and conditioned, a section is taken on the crown, and a large setting roller is used,
this is to give root lift at the crown.
You would then start brushing and smoothing the rest of the hair around the head....think 'Walnut whip'!
Secure ends with flat clips, cover with a hair net, and under the dryer for 20 mins+.
Remove client from dryer, unwrap, and rewind in the OPPOSITE direction.
Back under dryer until fully dry.

Sometimes we would use a bristle brush and dryer, just to give a perfect finish.
Hope that helps. :)

It actually works amazingly.

We tried it when I was training on a girl with MASSIVE hair.

Stupidly thick, stupidly long and really wavey/frizzy.

It did take the whole day for her to dry though...

Thanks guys, it's crazy how they're trying to bring it back in, think it's mostly for as you mentioned middle eastern and Asian ladies. Appreciated [emoji4]
