HI everyone.

Can anyone that does the st tropez manual tan give me some advise?. I have got myself all worked up and stressed out today over a client that was in my salon wait for it A WEEK AGO today.

This client came into the salon for a st tropez tan last friday.

I have done many a st tropez tan especially the last few months whilst ive opend my rented salon.

I had previously 1hr 20mns prior to this client did a st tropez manual tan.

This client was very anxious about it getting done the day of her booking which was a week b4. I asked if she would like to come in for a trail session she said she could not due to work demands ( i offered ).

I primarly booked her in for last friday said she would call me if she changed her mind. she did,nt and arrived for her appointment. All went well.

I exfoiliated her all over and removed with warm mitts and water.
Applied moisturizer to the hairline, elblows, knees, hands, ankles back of ankle all the usual dry places.

Applied the tan in the normal way looked muddy but that how it does look anyway.
All seemed fine and she looked like it was going to turn out nice looking at
the guide colour.

NOW wait for this ladies...........

Client comes back into the salon at 5.15pm tonight/ bearing in mind this is a FULL WEEK since she had her tan done. Anyway says to me just come back to show you my tan its a bit streaky.

Now looking at the client the tan had gone from her face and chest, but the tan was still on her arms and legs and looks like it does when your tan is fading. Basically she is saying after a week of walking around with it that its turned out wrong.

I asked if she left it on over night, asked if she had used any strong products to shower with in the morning and asked if she had used cheap moisturizer for any aftercare her answer was no I showered with Pure and Simple shower wash.

I appoligized immediatly and explained to her if she had come back the following morning I would of been able to do something about it,
she said she could,nt come back that day as she had to catch a train ( she was going to down to stay with freinds and going out for the night )

This is what has pissed me off more is the fact she did,nt even call me ALL week and left it a week b4 complaining.

Did I do right by not giving into her?
OR should I have been more sympathetic and offered her another tan full or 1/2 price.
I feel really bad about it but ive done loads of these tans and she is the only one that has come back hence again after a full week arrrrrrrrrr

Have I done anything wrong? The lady i did b4 her and others hav,nt come back to complain god im stressed out and confused now.

HELP please

I think you already know the answer to this, you didn't do anything wrong at all

It is very suspicious that she came in a week later. Granted if she went away she couldn't have come into the salon but surely she could have managed a phone call?

As long as you are happy in your application method then there's nothing to worry about

Sound's to me like she loved her tan so much, has become upset now it's fading and is now trying to get a freebie/discount out of you (it happens, believe me!)

You did exactly the right thing, don't worry xxx

i wouldnt give her anything , she should have phoned you at least to make you aware of it , she sounds like a scammer !! but i can understand you not wanting to upset clients

but i did a tan on myslef a week ago and its nearly all gone ..... can i complain to myself , lol :lol:

Sounds to me that uou did every thing right.

a tan only lasts 7 - 10 days

As the others have said, you did the right thing. Personally I wouldn't have apologised as you weren't in the wrong. Tans dont fade evenly, your body naturally exfoliates at different rates. I tanned a girl a few weeks back, when i saw her 10 days later and asked how her tan turned out she told me it went a bit patchy. I asked her if she meant straight away, she said 'no, after about 5 days'. I then asked her if she had used the exfoliater sachet and the tan top up sachet I gave her to take away, with strict instructions and a thorough explanation of how to even out her tan when it starts to fade, and how it would fade . She hadn't . I did my best but some people are just never happy.
