Hi girls:)

im thinking of starting up a mobile tanning business and need some advice... i have researched everything course, flyers etc and i have a few questions i hope you could help me with:hug:

i will be doing the course in feb and im planning on going with fake bake just to start up as alot of my friends love this tan and after a while i will be using tantastik, can i make flyers and business cards with the fake bake logo on it or do i need to get permission to use them??

i have researched which spray machines to get and im planning on buying the HVLP 700 as it seems to be one of the best at the mo, as im living in ireland i was woundering if anyone on here knew about having insurance and maybe could explain it to me? i prob sound stupid but i want to know everything before i set out.

many thanks for reading any any help would be greatful:hug::hug:

Fake bake sell flyers and business cards so if that's the only treatment you're going to offer and the only products used, then why not ask about them when you do the course? hth

see i want to start with fake bake for my friends and go on to use other tans so i will be wanting to put all the logo;s on the flyers should that be ok?

Most companys will send you a high resolution image of logos etc. if you are going to be using them on flyers etc. and using their product.
I don't really understand why you are starting out training with fake bake then going onot another company, surely if you prefer one brand go and do training with them.
You can't train with a certain brand just for your friends as hopefully they will only be a tiny percentage of your clients.

here in ireland i go to a college do a 5 hour course and you get qualified not with a certain tan company? there for i have to choose my own brand of tan i want to go with, as myself and my friends have gotten fake bake done and prefer it to any other brand i will be going with that to start with. I know not everyone wants to get fake bake etc so after a while i will take on doing other tans to suit cleints.

plus the cost of buying a machine here in ireland is a joke for a hvlp 500 mahcine and a pop up cubicle its €445 - €500. im looking at a company in the uk and for a hvlp 700 machine and pop up cubicle its £200 including postage and 2 yr garentee. amazing the price diff!!!

Its an expensive business buying lots of different tanning solutions to suit all your clients preferences.I would suggest sticking to one brand. There is a thing called a minimum order and different suppliers will require different methods in application so not only will you have to buy several different brands but you will have to do their training as well:eek:

You say you and your friends all prefer Fake Bake but there are lots of different tanning solutions.Maybe go to the next beauty show first and have a sample of different solutions and see what you like before commiting yourself. You can get lots of offers and very good advice.HTH

May I suggest you cross the water and buy your equipment over here.Given the price difference it would make sense for you to ferry across and buy what you really want or perhaps they would deliver?

i will be buying equiptment from the uk as the price differance is alot cheaper, im in the process of making a price list and so far to get the machine, pop up cubicle, flyers, business cards, sticky feet, disposable knickers & hats, gloves the tan its self and a diary to keep track of appointments and carry flyers etc works out at about £500. now iv priced all the stuff in ireland here as well and here it comes to €970 i will deff be buying from the uk!

even if i make to business cards and flyer designs my self im still saving a pretty penny i have money for everything and i want to get everything i need but to be ripped off by this country is a joke if you ask me!

Hi Tidy,

Ive been using various tans for years now but had to do a course a few months ago for insurance purposes.

I heard about a new tan brand recently launched in Ireland called Way 2 Glow based in Newry Co Down. I called them for a chat & really liked their friendly, non pushy approach so booked a course.

The training was excellent (I thought I knew everything about tanning but must admit I learned a good few things I didn't know). As for the products, the tanning solution is the best I have ever used - it looks extremely natural and wears off very well. My customers love it so much that I have pretty much stopped using my other tans (Fake Bake, Sienna X and Tantrick)

Although I booked for training only, they do an excellent deal for something like €450 for training, a maxi mist machine, tanning cubicle, 2x 0.5 litres of tanning solution (you have the choice of 8% light, 10% medium or 12% dark) and a load of consumables (sticky feet, disposable g-strings etc.)

I cannot praise the them highly enough - everything was fantastic.

If you want to give them a try you can call them on 0044 2830 264936.

Love...Tomaska
