Hi
I am going to open my own boutique nail salon in my home town. The reason being I have spent the past 10 years having either acrylic or gel nails in various salons, not ever being totally satisfied with either the result or the service. I really see an opportunity for a luxurious place with great customer service. I currently work as an area manager for a beauty and hair brand so i am looking for a complete change. I am not trained in nails, I did beauty therapy around 18 years ago but that stuff is long forgotten! I really want to do the nails myself though! gels and acrylics. I can appreciate it isn't going to be easy to learn but i always give everything 100% so I can learn. I am looking for a complete lifestyle change which will fit in with my family etc.
My question is...from you experienced people...where to start? Do i go on a biosculpture or calgel course first, or a basic manicure course, and who do I go with to learn acrylics?
Any advice is most welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I would recommend CND and their UK Distributor Sweet Squared very highly. I started training with them in January of this year. I have been really impressed with their training, products, service and support. Any little problems I have had have been sorted immediately without any fuss. I am loving the nail industry and am setting up my home salon in a few weeks time. It has become a hobby for me as well as hopefully a successful little business. Go for it and Good Luck xx

I have just done the bio sculpture course witch was fantastic!, i think in your area it will be the same as mine (Leeds) You will need your manicure cert before you can train with them. I did this with s2 in leeds. Good luck with what ever you chose:hug:

Thanks for all the advice. I'm sure it's going to be very difficult to learn and become good at it which is why i'm taking my time. I was considering bio sculpture or calgel as a 1st step rather than launching myself into the acrylics etc. I'm just waiting to hear back from Bio S as I read that they do a 2 day course covering manicure and then gels.
We'll see!
