I use a combination of steam, HF, Galvanic (desincrustation and iontophorosis).

For congested course skin would you steam and then do desincrustation to soften the impactions so that you can extract easier? OR would you only do either one only? I have heard that if you steam first which helps the skin to expel then its not beneficial to do galvanic afterward because you are pushing products into the skin? Any truth in this?

i have always used steam before desincrustation and then applied dermalogicas scaling fluid as this can be ionised on the negative polarity and goes hand in hand with extractions. I do cleansing under steam and then apply my scaling fluid and start with the desincrustation and the skin is less irritated as its warm so extracting is much easier and comfortable for the client. hope this is of some help to u.

Do you need to use a gauze when applying the scaling fluid to do the desincrustation? The dermalogica notes recommends using a gauze.

After desincrustation would you finish with a few minutes of ionto using the collodial/MV mask?

i apply scaling fluid on its own then desincrustation then remove and apply dermal clay as a mask for as long as the client can handle it, then remove that then apply gauze and do around 5 minutes on high frequency to close the skin up and its germicidal then id apply a sooothing mask e.g colloidal? if the clients skin isnt oily u could pop colloidal in place of the dermal clay
