i dont quite understand stiletto tips, i saw some in the usa recently and to me it seems that unless you want the nails to be the exact tip length they come in[ ie not need to trim the tip length] then they are no more advantage than using just a regular tip or in my opinion more successfully sculpting?
or didnt i see good ones or maybe just didnt look closely enough?
susan do you not think that they would be any good for almond or rounded nails. this was my first thought when i saw them as it seems to take me ages to file a nice rounded or almond shape from a square tip
Hi I brought some from At your fingertips too,to try out on myself.I had to file them right down to my usual square shape , they were tooooo looong for me.

well if they are not the length you require, you will probably want to clip off the tip and that more or less leaves you with a square and youre then in exactly the same position as you would be with a regular tip.
when i do oval type nails i fit the tips, cut the length with a tip cutter and then visualising the centre of the tip i use a pair of toenail clippers [kept specially for the purpose ] i trim off each corner of the tip to roughly where i want it and just finish shaping with the file. it doesnt take nearly as long as using just a file and its easier to keep each side even.
