I dont usually carry extra polish's for clients to purchase, but if they want to purchase them i get them when i go to the wholesalers or place an order, which is about once a month.

I keep about 30 polish's with me (mainly orly minatures as they take up less space), a selection of pinks, reds, glitters as these are more popular.

I find it's good if they use their own polish if they have some as they can touch up themselves if chip etc. But it's good to have a small collection yourself and i agree reds and pinks are popular. Pinks alot this summer. Or as lil linz says you could get them from wholesalers on request. I would wait till they ask though or they could tell your freinds of your cheaper buys and you could end up with a big order. Not that most would do that but there's always one.

ring up sweetsquared and ask what creative enamels are popular, i know that they will be able to give you their top ten....and viola you have a collection to start with

hiya, i have about 50 polishes (but i'm addicted to buying them!) i just carry them in a seperate box. A good thing to get i don't no if you've seen them are the colour wheel, it's a round plastic thing with about 30 nails on and you can paint each nail a colour, then just let your client have a look at those to see which colour they want. It saves them looking through all your bottles to find a colour.
As for them buying the polishes i don't carry any extra with me but i tell them i can order the colour for them which takes about a month. I've found it's good to have a wide selection of colours from nude/beige to bright pink and red as everyone likes something different, getting them in minitures is a good idea to save space! :)
