Hi there everyone! Well, Im new to this site but I must say I have lurked for awhile and you all seem so helpful and it seems a fab site!:) I finally reg yest and posted my first 'thread' asking for help with naming a salon as Im totally stuck on it!Im researching opening my first salon, Im in no hurry to do so as Id rather be fully prepared and take my time finding the right premises.(when I say no hurry, I aim to be open this year!) Now-I was wandering if you could help me as to which skincare ranges you all use and why? I aim to carry at least 2, one luxury-relaxing and one treatment (plus specialist ones for peels, pregnant tums etc)grrr see, now Im already starting to get confused as how do you know where to draw the line at what to stock? If your offering microderm-say crystal clear for arguments sake-do you stock theyre range in addition to your normal 'treatment' range? Sorry-Im new to this and just want to make sure I cater for everything and do it properly (pref without bankrupting myself beofre opening!) My initial thoughts were to go for dermalogica, as I just love their stuff, however, there is already a salon stocking it in the area Im considering opening in.........eeek please help me!!!!:irked:

Hi,

I stock Jan Marini (jmsr europe) we offer their Glycolic Peels as a treatment also and their products are specialised, you would prescribe them as such rather than let people walk away with any as they can be strong.

As a gentler range i stock Essentially Yours which is an Orangic Skincare range, its very affordable and very effective, its an up and coming range so im sure it will get more popular,it certainly is once you've tried it.

I have the Silhouette International Microdermabrasion machine and refuse to stock any of there products as i find the Company rude & Expensive!

If i was in your position i would be looking at the general picture i want for my salon and also whats in with todays general trends.I would say the key words that people react to now are: natural, possibly organic, enviromently friendly packaging,.I also think active but simple.People dont have the time to be bunging an loads of different things.

How do you see your salon what is your theme going to be.What treatments are you going to be offering ie because i am an aromatherapist my skincare range is Eve Taylor as she is an aromatherapist and essential oils are the basis for all her range. If you are going to be offering holistic therapies then your range can reflect this.

Hi Hun
just a thought why not have a look at moor spa i think their products are great, not well known yet but i think they will get there you could give them a ring they are really helpful ask them to send a load of bumf
speak to Dee or sandy ( i know Sandy's a beauty therapist as well so your not just talking to a sales person )
Beauty products | Beauty Therapy | Professional Treatments | Beauty Supplies- Moorspa.co.uk :)

don't know if this is any help but had to mention them as i have and so do a few of my client, really sensitive skin, this product is really great for that as i can use any of the products and not restricted to one product i can actually treat the problems as well as being a great retail product!

Hi there, I have recently taken on the monu range by susan molyneux, and I love it! It follows a lot of what i believe in, ie, no animal testing, plant extracts, aromatherapy, comprehensive range ect, so fits in well with my salon. I also have eve taylor for a "pamper" type facial. It may be worth you sitting down and having a long hard think about what you want the products to offer your clients, what sort of clients you think you will have, and with what sort of budget, whats on offer around you ect. Get lots of samples from differant companies, and go from there. I found it a very hard decision to make as facials are a huge part of my income so didnt want to get it wrong! Good luck xx
