Hiya,
I’ve experienced that it’s really hard to wax on some ladies who shave or use cream in between as the hair became coarse and hard to pull out with warm wax. I’ve to wax through again and again (equivalent to double arm/leg). Wasting my wax and time. I’ve explained the reason and advised her not to shave as you know some don’t listen or due to commitment they can’t get wax done. Then I did her sister and same thing happened again. I heard from her that they sometime leave it for months not sure should I charge her extra next time if this happened again.
Please advise what you normally do if you come across this, do you charge extra on top of the price in your price list or leave those stubborn hair which are not coming out (I don’t feel like doing it, I’ve plucked it out at the end).
Also, how do I find out when a new client call to make appointment whether they have been regularly getting wax done or do you find it rude.
SORRY for the long essay as I’m still new, I will be really appreciated if you expert can advise. Thanks in advance!

I only have 1 client that will not follow after care and it is a pain to tweeze,
this is a man and it is a very large area i am waxing so it would take twice as long to tweeze the shorter ones from the in between things he does,
i have told him next time he comes if he has messed with it in between i am going to epilate the shorter ones that wont come out,
same as tweezing but a damn site quicker,
he has even had laser treatment in between appointments

thankfully all my others behave

I pride myself on getting every hair out, even if it mean tweezing. However, you must be confident and firm with your clients. Once you're more experienced, you'll be able to tell at a glance if they've messed around with the hair in between appointments.

If they've shaved, clippered etc, ask them (accusingly LOL) and explain to them that they won't get a great finish if they keep doing that. Hint that you won't be tweezing so much hair on every visit and they'll soon stop.

You'll get a much better result with hot wax so give it a try. xx

I usually have a feel and you can tell if they are going to be left with a lot of shorties.
Tell them before you even start that they are not going to be left with smooth legs.I don't mind plucking a few but no way am i tweezering for hours because they won't let them be inbetween.

I also tell them that they are setting themselves up for ingrowns by keep plucking, shaving etc and their legs will end up a mess.

Thanks for the replies. I did notice it before I started waxing them that they have been either shaving or using other things in between waxing. I will explained in the beginning next time, really appreciated for the advise. Thanks again! :)
