I now use oil prior to waxing thanks to the info I have gained from this site but the other day one of my customers insisted on sugar for her facial waxing (I had previously used oil and honey wax with no probs). I think I took some of her skin off her top lip - it looked very red and I used powder with the sugar as I was not sure oil would work.

Can you use oil with sugar or do you have to stick to powder?

Thanks,

Siana

If you are using the traditional sugaring method (sugar ball and no strips) You don't have to use talc or oil. The natural sugar by itself will not stick to skin only to the hairs, talc or oil can affect this.

I have never used oil with strip sugar, only talc.

Not sure if it would work with oil....

Is it possible that the sugar was too hot or that you didn't stretch the skin enough ?

Is she on any new medication perhaps that could have affected her skin ?
