Looking for a bit of advice got a client who is naturally about a base 4/5 who has been getting her hair lightened but is now wanting to go to a 55/65 her hair is very damaged due to the amount of lightening what would be best to pre pig it so it sticks x

I hope this helps, you basically need to replace the undertone that has been removed.

It's going to be very important that you use a low peroxide demi for this. You will need to do a two step process before you can even hope to have good results. There will be a sharp contrast if she had any regrowth and you don't formulate a slightly lighter, warmer shade on the bleached hair. I'd use color touch for this. 1.9%. If you have olaplex I'd do a stand alone treatment followed by yout prepigment then the final color on top of that. Also, adding a semi on top after the target shade has been applied, processed and rinsed will help prevent rapid fade out and wishy washy color. I'd also use olaplex as a part of each formula along the way. Good luck!

You might like just simply color with a good quality tone-on-tone color. You only need to use 10 Vol, so very little opening of the hair cuticle. I don't think the loss of the undercoat (Jody's point above) would be that obvious but if it is a big issue, you could replace some of that with an extra coverage ("NN") hair color.

So you are suggesting taking bleached, porouse hair 5 levels darker in one step? Using what color line?

Any tone on tone range you are comfortable with should be OK...as I said, I would suggest going for a natural (0) or NN (00) because these colors would help deal with the repigmentation issue.

You are crazy

A couple more suggestions:
(1) As Tsparker mentions above, products such as Hilift Curplex, or Olaplex do help rebuild hair structure in case of very damaged or porus hair. It would be great to bring in your client in for this type of intensive care session before coloring.
(2) I forgot to mention...when applying the tone down color, increase development time by 10 minutes. This will help fasten the color as your customer's hair is so porus and damaged.

It's never easy working with damaged hair...
