I have recently seen some nail art done with coloured acrylic and it had a beautiful swirl effect can someone please tell me how this is done....when i say swirl effect i mean for example the tip of the nail may be done in white but then there is still like a fusion of blue used in it which kinda look like a faded effect as well (kinda like an artist drawing the sky how they have the white and the blues fading together to make the sky) sorry if it sounds like madness but i saw it on this site and i would like to understand how its done

Could you direct us to a picture.

It could be done in several different ways - with coloured powders, with varnish, with airburshing etc.

One way I was shown used a fast setting white on the tip and then you press/blend your chosen colour/s into that before it's set. You can create a marble like effect that way. Don't know if that's the sort of thing you're looking for, but it's what sprang to mind. Hths :)

catherine wong taught us this technique when i attended a class with her in orlando recently.

she double dipped her brush in 2 different coloured acrylic powders and placed it on the nail form then did the same again. and then quickly swirled the colours lightly together with the tip of the brush and patted it all smooth and in to place.

catherine and viv simmons are holding a 2 day training after the olympia nail show in september. i have booked my place and after attending her class in usa, i would recomend it to all.
