What is the best way to take pictures of your work so as to get the best view of the nails from all important angles, without having to take loads of pictures?

Was wondering if anyone could advise of the best ways to position the hands to get a good snap shot?

Look in my album and you will see!

The way not to take images of nails is both hands together flat on a surface where they always look like a bunch of bananas!

The fingers should be gently curved around some object or other .. or the face etc.

There are enough photos here on the site for you to see good and bad.

I would copy some of the good poses that you like.

yes i did the both hands flat on a surface thing lol and altho the picture looks ok...the nails looked flatter than they were, i tried a few other positions but couldnt seem to get it right!
Your pictures are great but obviously professionally done! May nails arent quite up to that standard yet! lol im just trying to start a lil folio mainly for myself for now so i can keep track of what ive done and hopefully see improvements as i go along.

I will try the holding object thing as you suggested thanx

Another thing to rmember is that the camera makes the nails you do look flatter and often thicker. A pose that empahsises the curvature of the nails is really important .. hence why the fingers should be curved.

Yes thats what i was trying to get...a picture where you can see the actually curve and shape of the nail....its trickier than i thought it would be! :irked:

The problem I have when I try and take pictures is the focus. I cant get my camera to focus even with the Macro setting.:irked:
But like yourself, the way to place the hands is difficult too.
Everyone else seems to have great pics.....:green:
