Tanning before a holiday?

Hi All
I know this is probably a stupid question but im going to ask anyway as i really don't know the answer!


Ok here goes..... I am off on holiday and i don't want to arrive on the beach pale if i spraytan (su-do) myself before i go will that prevent me from getting a tan with the sun??

I have been trained in spraytanning for a few years now and i don't know the answer to that question, please help!

A spray tan does not affect the skin being tanned from the sun as it offers absolutely no protection. Think of it as a long lasting make-up. The main danger is people thinking they have a tan and so not putting sun block on and ending up burnt. Use your normal sun protection and you will tan as normal. :hug:

Personally I'd get a tan the day before going away but not sure if this is correct protocol :green:
make sure you get some oil free suntan lotion as normal stuff breaks it down, I know this as I did it lol I got some hawain tropic off ebay for about £4
Also make sure have something to exfoliate the fake tan off with as it will breakdown eventually with all the sand,sea & chlorine.

Yep you cant beat having a tan when you fly off on hols....at least you can head strait into the crowd on the beach and not be the lobster white Brits baking in the sun at the back of the beach where all the time share touts troll.

Just remember though gal's that swimming in the sea and especially pools does have a tendency to strip a tan right down and could result in blotch skin tones

To combat the high erosion pressure your going to put on your skin what with all that sand,sea and :Grope: you will be getting up to your skin is going to want something put back into it.

The best way of combating the ravages of holiday damage to a tan is to take along a moisturiser which is impregnated with DHA...not the crap high street ones that contain about 1% DHA ..get a good pro one that contains enough to at least help rebuild your tan as it is eroded rapidly while your away having fun.

Around 2 days before you go away.


Remember girls spray tan has no protection SPF in the lotion so you still have to use suncream

Beware if you have big ****s!

A few yrs ago I had a manual St Tropez before going abroad. It looked great ...until a few days into my holiday. My ****s, being rather large at the time (had a reduction since), got a little sweaty in the heat and I had huge WHITE half moons under each one where it had prematurely worn off! It wasn't the best topless look, though my mates found it hilarious

i go to ibiza in 3 weeks and will prob get a tan before i go so wold you all advise perhaps a lighter shade than i would normally get or even something like tantrick 5 so that when i exfoliate it off when it starts to go funny i dont go back whiter than i went if you know what i mean? i normally have about a 10% but i havent been away since i was 13 so dont know if i would tan as dark as that in a week plus i dont want to be brown one day then take it off and im whiter next day lol xx

Alli, I did the 5% tantrick for my recent holiday in spain and spent the whole time wishing i had done a deeper one!

Everyone is so dark on holiday that i felt like casper most of the time, especially my legs. If you are in and out the pool often I would suggest doing the 10% as normal and then applying a manual fake tan to the legs at some point if needed.

i am worried that if i go for the 10% then when it starts to fade it might go patchy and be hard to get off and ill be stuck looking dodgy on holiday. for some reason the la disco tan i got on fri does not want to come off today and i resemble a giraffe at the moment so id hate for that to happen mid holiday. maybe ill meet in the middle and go for 8 xx

Im staying in Den bossa. I go there every year. Have stayed in San antonio but im not keen. Den bossa is quieter and a little bit cleaner but still close to everything. Its only 15 mins in a taxi to san an and ibiza town etc. i love it there.

Im allways scared to get a spray tan before i go away incase it goes patchy. I had a bad experience with fake bake when i was about 14.
I think im going to just go for it this time though. Only a 8% as im pale anyway. But im going to take tantrick products to top up while im away. x

i think ill just do tantrick 8 then. would dove with the tan in it do the same job for topping up ? do you find you still come back with a tan? im going to san antonio bay for the first time xx

Im not sure if the dove stuff would be strong enough? Im just going to use the tantrick as i know it will work with the spray tan im getting.

San an bay is nice, its a lot quieter than the san an centre but still close to all the nightlife etc.

I'm off to Ibiza next Saturday, we are staying at Calla Llonga, which is east of the island and very very quiet (hopefully).

Have some summer ? spray tan left over from a sample that collin sent me last year, will that be ok to take with me? I'm paler than pale so usually just ask for a light colour.
