Hi, I have been spray tanning for about 2 months now and have recently been asked to do spray tanning at a hawaiian themed party in a pub, they are also having a disco.
The idea is that people come in beachwear and get a spray tan and then I donate a percentage of the money taken to their charity, which sounds fine but I am concerned that the people I spray will get hot and sweaty dancing afterwards and may then complain if the tan is not perfect.
Has anyone done this sort of thing before or does anyone know if sweating will ruin the tan?
What would you guys do?? any help would be much appreciated!!

Hey Hun, sounds like a its going to be a fun party.. I don’t know if it is the sweat from the moves there going to be busting or them spilling there drinks on themselves that you are going to have to keep an eye on.

I spray tan my local dance school with LA DISCO. It’s a lovely all over DARK brown colour. I would defiantly recommend it for this occasion. But please be aware it will get darker as the night goes on!!!! They will look like they have just been to the carabian for 2 weeks... They have got a fab offer on their solutions; they are buy 1 get 1 free. Have a good night x

I think it would be a nightmare, part of our aftercare advice to clients following a tan is to avoid any activities that may cause the client to perspire, this is because the tan will streak.

Then you have the lighting issue, how will you see properly with disco lighting?(i.e ensuring all the body is covered in tan,no unsprayed areas)

Make up and deodrant.... both should not be worn whilst spray tanning, nor should perfumes. How do you propose to advise everyon on their pre care?

I think the concept sounds fun but the reality will be far from it and will give you a bad reputation as a spray tanner.

I am not worried about the lighting as the Spray Tan will be done in a different room to the disco, also anyone wanting a tan is going to book in advance so I can advise on pre care, it is really sweating that I am worried about as i'm not sure what effect it will have on the tan??

Ok,well sweating will cause moisture which will cause the tan to streak around the underam or any other area that has a tendancy to sweat.HTH

When I read the first post in the thread, my instant reaction was 'what a nightmare', the reason being that whilst the 'fun' of it sounds really good what I interpret the reality to be is totally different.

You will be in a different room spraying people to make them bronzed beauties, while in the next room, the beer will be flowing, bodies girating, sweating and slopping their beer around, bumping and banging against each other etc etc etc etc........... I just wonder what they will wake up to?

The idea of a tan party is to gain business from it but I'd worry this would lose me business.

Thank u guys for all you help, I think I will offer to spray those who want it the day/night before the party, then everyone is still tanned for the party and I don't have to worry about streaking!

Think that is a much better option ;) and everyones happy

this sounds realy fun x enjoy it and get loads of new custom:D
I agree with BABSANN id be far more concerned about drink spillages and bad feedback thereafter, i have a few clients who like to be sprayed just before a night out so they look really brown with the guide colour, i always advise them against going out with the guide colour on as streaking is inevitable, even if the client is really careful with their own drinks, that doesnt stop someone droppin a glassfull and splashing their legs, or leaning against a wet bar surface, id think twice about doing the beach party, as they say, bad feedback travels twice as fast as good, and if your reletively new to spray tanning, your goin to need all the praise you can get...good luck .xxx
