had a lady last week who i tanned for the first time with tantrick, she normally has st tropez on a regular basis
anyway,,
she was very pale when i did her, ( im not used to seeing her like this instead of normally looking glowing lol) after asking her if she burns in the sun, and then stays burnt or then goes brown, she told me she burns and then always stays out of the sun for fear of burning further
so i erred on the side of caution and sprayed her with the 5%

so she goes away and comes back,
she love s it but thought it was a bit light for her,
( better safe than sorry lol)

right so my query is,,
she s off on holiday at the end of next week,
should i spray her once with 8% or eos and send her on her hols?
or should i spray her with 5 % then spray her again two days later with 5% again?
i just cant get my head round this,??
i know two 5% tans dont equal a 10% tan, but will it deepen it enough for her to be happy,
as i think the 8% will be too dark for her and shes very particular

i told her twice over two days with 5%
but im happy to tell her different if you guys tell me so!!

I would spray her once with 8%, she will love that colour and it will be perfect for her holidays.

YOu did the right thing to start off with by erring on the side of caution with doing the 5%. But I don't think you will gain anything by spraying 5 then a top up of 5 two days later. Just spray her with 8% as close to her hols as possible so she gets maximum benefit whilst being away.

Make sure she knows to wear sun protection as the tan won't protect her skin from the sun even though it has a small amount of protection.

thanks jen
this is where i get confused, and sometimes i have to have it drilled into me, before i get my head around something lol

because shes so pale, wouldnt the 8% look too dark for her, when shes used to being lighly golden all yr round?
i know shes off on holiday , but she wont sit in the sun
i think shed prefer to just have a golden tan look rather than a tan if you know what i mean??
i assumed that two lots of a tan done over a period of days would intensify the original tan??
if not so please tell me as i possibly dreamed that bit up,
and you know that i hate not knowing the correct answer lmao!!

sorry for sounding pedantic , i dont mean to , just need the answers to get my head round it

come on you all know what im like lol

I would use the 8% or the essence of summer,
the 8% will give her the tanned look and the eos will give her a healthy golden glow hth

I would still spray her with 8% and if she felt it was getting too dark after 5 hours then shower off early. There is no need to top up with Tantrick within a couple of day (in my experience anyway.. someone may tell you different). The 8% won't be too dark I am sure. Could she have the tan tomorrow then if she doesn't like it, it has chance to fade before next week and if she loves it, she can have it done again next week before her holiday.

You run the risk of the tan going a little patchy or snake skin like if you top up so quickly.

And beside I am sure the St Tropez is at least an 8% if not darker, so she will be used to having a darker tan than the 5% anyway.

I would def go with the 8% after all she appears to want a tan,and if she is off on hols that reinforces it, good for you though

thankyou all xxx
i will change her appt then,
i think imust have read it on here or dreamt it about a top up over two days,
i definately wasnt taught it on my course , so i will go with the e o s on her on do it just before she goes!!
thankyou for all the advice guys
i appreciate it
always learning always learning lol

she is actually booked in next wed and fri so shall i get her in this week for an 8 then if shes happy spray her again on the fri next week before her hols?

that's what i would do. I have only sprayed a handful of customers with 5%, so little that I dont think i'll order it as it is one that I never use and it just sits there going off lol... only use it on see-through people and I mean casper like! lol. Same with 12%, very rarely use it as i'm scared it will tango someone unless they are already quite dark.

I use 8% and 10% but more 8% as I think the 10% is more for summer. Havent tried my sample of EOS yet but it smells yummy! I remember being nervous of the 8 too but it's a lovely natural colour, have sprayed redheads etc and never had a problem with it being too dark.

Problem i'm having at the moment is not being able to see the colour guide? I have stopped and sprayed onto tissue a couple of times to make sure its coming out, and it is, but I cant see it at all? makes me nervous! lol... I'm sure I used to be able to see it, has it changed lately?

I would have said no but to be honest I opened a new bottle of 8% the other day and I thought the colour guide seemed lighter. By the end of the tan you could see the change in colour on the client, just seemed a little lighter going on. No change in the developed tan colour though.. still beautiful when developed.

Perhaps Collin would clarify if the guide colour has altered any?

thanks Jen, thought it was my eyes! lol...

The lady I did this morning looked nice and glowing by the time I left as you say, but whilst I was actually spraying I could see nothing, this made me turn the dial up a bit because I thought it wasn't coming out even though I could see it on tissue... I know you are not supposed to spray them brown but a little clue would be nice! :)

Collllllliiiiiiinnnnnn??? .......... you there?........lol

I did query this with Colin a number of weeks ago too as I though a new bottle I opened seemed as if there was very little colour guide in the spray. I did think that the colour came out darker too but it is possible that I sprayed over the client more than normal due to the apparent lack of guide colour.

Colin assured me though that there has been no change to the solution in any way, guide colour or other.

:irked: well there must be something wrong with it then, we can't all be imagining it! Ive got a whole bottle here but tried a different brand solution on my last client and it went on lovely, just need feedback from her as to how it looks tomorrow, how it fades etc... shame cos I used to sing Tantricks praises along with everyone else.... think the needle saga just about did it for me!!

Hi Guy's,
sorry to hear you are having problems.

The Tantrick solutions formulation's are exactly the same as they alway's have been (except for the new EOS one which is water based) and come from exactly the same supplier as they have done so since the begining.

I have checked with our supplier who have again confirmed the formulation is exactly the same as it has always been in the past.

There are sometimes factors which can effect a specific batch formulation generally caused when DHA is transported in extreem cold weather etc.

If you would Pm me your contact details I will happily talk through these issues through with you and come up with solutions for you.
Best regards

Needle saga?? are you having problems with the product range? I would rather know exactly what the products and company warts and all before I invest.

glad to hear things are on the up, every body seems to have good things to say about Colin, thanks for the message I would send you a reply but I haven't got a clue how to find email addresses to do so!! Computor whizz me!!!

there is a 'reply' tab at the bottom of the message! I've just sent you another one :green:
