Hi,

Been using tantrick for the past 6 months after training on myself and friends and I love the product. The only problem is when the tan starts to wear off it has the appearance of lizard skin or perhaps cracking. Is there a problem with my application or is this just a side effect of sunless tanning fading?

This has happened to about 4 people, plus myself. Not sure whether to switch brands unless there is a solution to the problem?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Do you still exfoliate softly when you have the tan on. I do this and it seems to make it fade more evenly. How long does the tans usually last?

The only other thing i can think of is when people get a really dark colour against their own skin then you see it coming off a lot more noticabley

Proper use of moisturiser, plus gentle exfoliation as the tan fades are the secret to keeping it looking good and as the other poster has said using too dark a colour highlights the wear.

This has nothing to do with the Tantrick product, simply related to spray tans in general.

This problem can also come from using moisturiser that contains oils,
i have used tantrick for a couple of years now and don't get this problem at all, with myself or clients,
you have to moisturise every day (this one really needs to be drilled into the clients) and it has to be oil free,
without the correct aftercare you will experience this with all tans,

Loubylou,

What moisturiser do you recommend?
Which ones are not oil based?

:)

I use Tantricks tan extender along with E45 or Johnsons baby lotion in the pink bottle hth

This happens to me with this and many other tans, I don't know why but I get a lizard like effect, I suppose it's just where it starts wearing off the skin but it is annoying.
