I am really focusing on the things that make me unconfident ...I am a woman on a mission with this lol...
So one of the things that I embarrased of is my teeth !
They are an awful colour (minging I know)
I really don't know much about teeth whitening at all..
I imagining thousands of pounds
But thought I'd check on here before totally ruling it out for ever and having to put up with something I really don't like for the rest of my life !

Has anybody had it ?
Did it work?
What cost am I looking at paying ?
Is it hard to keep them whiter, or is it just like a new begining !

Any information on this I would be greatful for..x

right thats the teeth whitening...check !
microdermabrasion......check !
Now for the **** job and tummy tuck

With tooth colour I can identify, mine are dreadful  I had watched somewhere that whitening treatments can make teeth more yellow after a time but as that was on TV I guess I'll wait for an informed opinion now from real people who know. If there is a whitening treatment that really works I'd go for it too because none of the home kits did it for me. I'm starting to think maybe mine are just going to be like this

laser eye surgery: tick
**** job: tick
teeth whitening: tick

 am soooo shallow!!!!

have fab nice shape/size teeth, just wanted a bit more GLAM a la Showbiz land!!!! went to my dentist girl, £299.00, she made mouthguard type (think rugby!) impressions-1st session with them and then went home with tubes of gel that you apply into the plastic guard and leave on overnight.

didn't see huge difference for 2 weeks and then suddenly: WHAM!!!

In total did it 3, 3 1/2 weeks, they are very very white (and eventhough they are not straight-have had wisdom teeth since primary school!!! and have a lack of room:eek:) they look really fab!!!!!! every few months I do a re-run for a few nights to keep them up. (but that is personal, it should last several years, but i like keeping on top of it regarding coffe/tea use)

Keeps them very clean as well, since the bleeching gel seems to also eat away at hardened plaque stuff:eek:

My teeth do become sensitive (tickling inside teeth in my case) the day after i start, and when i finish a little re-do (2/3 nights depending how i feel about husband seeing me like this:rolleyes:) it's gone after a few days.

How white your teeth become is a personal trial and sometimes error. I found the lasertype treatments too pricy, plus you cannot maintain them yourself afterwards...

Hope this helps!!!!!

ps i DID try a home kit from a chemist...years ago!

my teeth turned grey!!!

Turned out stuff was so abrasive that it actually roughened my enamel and dentist had to smooth/shine them up for me!!! Thanks heavens no scary damage because my teeth are very health and i wanna keep them that way!!!!:smack:

and enamel became heaven for stains to stick to.... forgot to put that in!!!:irked:

Not done the teeth whitening thingie but my dentist quoted me about £300ish for the treatment. As it is I can't afford it as my false tooth thingie fell out last weekend and I need to get a replacement. There goes £450!!!! :irked:

This has come up a few times before, so Im probably repeating myself, but, I have had mine done. I am a dental nurse previously, and my dentist did my teeth as a leaving prezzie for me (lovely man!) he charged patients £550 aprox.

I found the whole thing very uncomfortable! I couldn't completely finish the treatment. It did look a bit better, but I wouldn't have it done again. My teeth felt sensitive too.

Also whitening treatments DONT last forever! Teeth discolour again over time from the food and drink we consume.
You have to make sure the product you use (well, should be dentist) Has a sufficient amount of peroxide or it won't do a thing!!
Im sure there are plenty of people who found it great and had no side affects. If you do have it done, make sure you use a proffesional!! shop ones are a waste of time and money! x

Emmsy,I havnt had teeth whitening but I have had the **** job and tummy tuck!!If u want to know anything pm me,

Hunni I dont know about teeth whitening but I know about porcelain veneers.
When I was 16 I had the front 6 of my top teeth covered with veneers they are great never had a prob and also closed my gaps. My teeth used to be really small and major gaps in between my front 2 Lucky teeth they told me Yeah right didnt feel lucky looking at them.
Anyway have a look into that too.. It aint cheap though luckily I got mine on the nhs.

I got my teeth whitened by my dentist. He made me one of the gum shield tray thingies by taking an inpression and sending it away. I had tubes of gel and put it in the shield and wore them overnight for a week or two if I remember. I thought I'd really have difficulty tolerating it in my mouth overnight, but had no problems.

It was quite expensive. I think it was £350 about 2 or 3 years ago. However, now that i have the tray thingy I can get more of the gel from the dentist if I need any to do it again. He said it wasn't expensive, but I've not bought any so can't help with this.

As long as your teeth don't change position, or you get a new crown or something. the tray will continue to fit, and they can even make some alterations if needed. Remember though, if you have white fillings, crowns, veneers etc the gel won't make them lighter, so you would either need to put up with them or get them replaced to match your new tooth colouring.

Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, just ask. xxx

How effective did you think it was?

Hiya - I had mine done in New York at a professional "Spa" called Britesmile. They are now in the UK as well. It was much much cheaper over there and with the current exchange rate you could probably fly there & get it done for less than getting it done here! Any excuse for shopping??
Anyway - this was about 4 years ago and my teeth are still a lovely colour (I have never smoked but do drink red wine, tea & coffee). Apparently teeth have a pre determined level of whiteness so if they have always been more on the creamy side they probably won't be as bright as you want, however the results are pretty impressive on everyone that I have seen (have 5 other friends who had it done at same place at varying times). A couple of them experienced sensitivity and shooting pains when having it done and for a maximum of 24hrs afterwards. Personally I had no pain whatsover and I would recommend having it done. You can really tell the difference on photographs :green: x

Sorry - missed a bit.... The whole thing takes one hour (+ 30min consult) and they basically paint your teeth with the active ingredient (assume peroxide of some sort) which they change twice, so 3x 20mins. The actual Spa was very nice, private cubicles, tv etc. They also sell loads of home maintenance products but to be honest I only used them for a couple of months and then got out of the habit. Teeth still white so obviously not essential! :green: x

i won the britesmile whitening treatment in a competition once. i had it done in london and have found it fantastic. i have just looked for my before and after picks but cant find them.... i didnt have bad teeth before but could still tell the difference afterwards. i had quite sensitive teeth for 24hours afterwards but nothing bad. the treatment was fine, slightly uncomfortable position to have your mouth in but no big deal. i dont drink tea coffee or red wine much, and teeth are still very white, people still comment, 2 years on.....hth

I don't know if Crest Whitestrips are available in your area but if the are, try them.

I bought and used the Whitestrips Premium. It's a 7-Day regimen (twice a day for 7 days) and the cost was about $30.00, US Dollars. The great thing is: they REALLY work! How 'bout that?

I experienced a little bit of tooth sensitivity but then I just took the next day off and resumed the day after that. You can also use a toothpaste made for sensitive teeth for a few weeks before you use the strips.

I will continue to purchase and use these. For me, it's way more affordable than the $300 dollar jobs.

As for the tummy tuck and **** job, maybe we can go in together and buy one, get one half off.

Best of luck to you! :)

get a spray tan,

Thankyou so much girls ...
I do have "fake teeth" lol, Not sure of the correct term,
one front one, is entierly false attached to a tiny bit of my own tooth...
and the one next to it, is half false...
The major point too is..I am petrified of the dentist
I wasnt until a few years ago when I had the front teeth fitted...omg the pain !!!
mabey I just really need to get over it somehow and see if they can help
