Hello can anyone help me??? I was recommended to buy The Edge UV gel as its self levelling but it wont come off with acetone. Is there a special fluid you can use to remove it or are we talking industrial sanders!!!

If you can't remove it with either product remover or acetone then it'll more than likely be a buff off gel.
Remove the majority of the bulk with a 180 grit, then reduce to a 240 grit as you get closer to the nail plate.
You need to use caution so that you don't damage the nail plate.

Have you trained to use a buff off gel?

No! I was trained using star nail products which werent a problem but the training centre recommended the edge gel! Doubt they could have actually used it themselves. The acetone didnt seem to have any effect, so I have to buff it off? Will it take ages?

It's a buff off one, I used it at college.
It depends how thick you've applied it hun as to how long it takes to remove.
As far as buffing it off goes as it's your first time I'd recommend you leave a thin layer so you don't go to far.

Have you tried The Edge Tip Remover? I used The Edge products and have never had a problem removing them xx

Product/Tip remover won't work with hard gels (buff off gels), they don't soak off like L+P.

If you have to buff it off then I really recommend that somebody with the skill and training actually show you how to buff off gel. Personally it is not something I would do unless you have been shown how. Sometimes it can be difficult to ascertain what is gel as opposed to natural nail.

The edge gel is definately a buff off gel, i have trained in this earlier in the year

I was just checking out your profile and it says you are a nail tech who uses the edge. Can I ask what you used previously to the edge products?
I would book a gel course as it seems a few issues going on there that would require proper training in gels.

Are you self taught in nails if you are watching product videos on the net or are you in college/course?

Do you find the edge products work well? I'm about to learn UV Gels this weekend for my NVQ and the starter kit is the edge and so I'm guessing thats what we are learning with so I'd like to know how they perform and how long they last?

I trained in Edge UV Gel... The product isn't horrendous but it is at the lower end of the scale.

I've since trained with IBD and I loovve it! X
