Hi , could some one please explain why Im getting some clients nails coming off when their due for a rebalance ? When they come for infills ..fine there all in tack ,when their due for rebalance, their a few nails missing which they tell me.. the whole nail came off!!!

I think its a prob Ive been having for a while, and some peeps just persavere and have a new set.It must be something Im doing wrong and I just want to get to the bottom of it.

Im doing a Creative l n p conversion very soon , and hope I wont have this prob then.I just cant understand why they are fine on infills, but some are missing on rebalance?

It's possible that it could be caused by pocket lifting, happening over time when the nails are becoming too thick, not necessarily noticable at the free edge, but in zone 2. How many fills/rebalance is this happening in? I would hazard a guess at 4-5?

Other than that, it's likely a ratio issue.

Good luck with your conversion course.

Its usually on the first rebalance unfortunatly.

Oh dear! Possibly working too wet, which will cause adverse shrinkage away from the nail plate as the excess monomer evaporates too quickly in the polymerisation process. Is it all clients?

Is it on your clients that wear their nails long and clients that are active with their hands at work like typing working in banks etc

Seems to be on all I hate to say,Ive just done a search on pocket lifting, just wondering if it could be my brush , Im not using my Ezflow one as I got the ends clogged up with acrylic ages ago and done a stupid thing of cutting it out ,although I can still use it cant do smile lines with it no more , so I went and purchased a kolinsky size 8 oval brush, but when I done my Popits training recently I was told the brush was not the correct one to be using.

So Ive recently pulled back out my Ezflow brush and intend to use it if this is causing the prob, I can just use the other brush for doing smile lines.I have been trying to work dryer too recently as I thought this could be the prob,so not sure its that. Its not just with p & w either its with natural overlays too so I cant be due to getting monomer on the nail.

You can work at the correct ratio with any brush you decide to use.

As you said it happens with one colour enhancements too, so even if you are 'tidying' your smile lines, I do think it's potentially a too wet a ratio in general for it to be happening so quickly.

I'm sure your prep work is all up together?

Your brush should not be causing this problem, how you use the brush how ever could be the answer,
when you place your bead of product do you let it settle for 2 to 3 seconds before working it (you need to)
then when you do work the product you need to be pressing and patting with your brush not brushing it on if you know what i mean, the only time you use your brush as a brush is when you have all the product where you want it then you very lightly brush over the whole nail to get a smooth finish,
i know you probably know all this but some times we all need a little reminder and if you are not doing these things it can cause your problems hth

I was thinking more on the lines of if I wasnt using the correct brush,I may not be pressing the acrylic on firm enough??? Maybe .

EzFlow has a different application method to the CND application method, which is why we all advise conversion courses here, to get the best out of the product we are using

Yes, I do let it settle for 2-3 secs, and then press it on and pull the brush over after . So go on then.. please jog my memory and tell me what texture my bead should look like please.

Ok Cathie can you please jog my memory....:).

Your clear and pink bead should look like frosted glass and your white bead should look like a spiky snowball hth

opps sorry didnt realise you were using ezflow

Truly White = thick double cream
Pink/clear/natural = a pearl, glassy but firm

How long do your clients go between rebalances and infills ? Infills at 2 weeks and rebalance at 4 weeks ? Maybe they are getting out of balance and the apex of the nail has moved too far down the nail causing your clients to lose their nails more easily when knocked etc ?

I always rebalance at every appointment as I find doing infills at every other appointment just does not work for me.

The problem with Debbie's brush is that it has a very fat round belly with sharp thin pointed flags.

It is nearly impossible for her to pick up a decent bead on such a pointed brush.

More importantly though, it IS impossible for her to make the brush flat enough to move and smooth the product effectively.

What exactly has happened to your 508 Debbie? Maybe there is a way to fix it?

Well Ive pulled it back out and I used it on a set last night it seems fine ,it just hasnt got the point so much as it had before , so when it comes to doing the smilies Ill just use my other brush to do them ah.:)

Ok. Are you remembering to use primer?

When applying the primer during an infill/rebalance are you getting it on existing product?

When you perform an infill, are you making sure you reposition the apex?

Just suggesting ideas..... the answer will pop up sooner or later.

I would usually infill at 2 weeks, and then rebalance 2-3 weeks replacing the apex then I do have people that say to me ..I can go 3 weeks,I think Im going to keep an eye on this as like you say it could be because the apexs is out of place.
