Hubby is graduating in May and I'm officially fed up with working for other people, so we are thinking of taking the big plunge and opening our own salon.
Anyone here have any advice? should we add hair and aesthetics or just nails? Should we throw caution to the wind and invest up to our eyeballs right from the start or should we start small and try to grow?
All of you who have owned your own salons what challenges have you faced?
I hear my business teacher telling me all the time capital is the number one reason businesses fail. How do i know if i have enough?
what about hiring employees? or should hubby and I try to tackle it together?
its really a very open ended question but i'd love all thoughts and opinions.
My salon idea is a Balinese inspired decor and focuses on organic and eco friendly products and services. Maybe a small boutique in the front featuring items from local crafters and vendors. (candles, handbags, jewelry etc...)
